    Anyone have experience repairing camcorders?

I have several minidv's camcorders, ranging from a non working firewire port to the tape deck not closing. Does anyone have any experience on how to approach issues like this?

Or does anyone know where I can get parts from? The camcorders are Sony HDR-HC3 and a Canon HV20

    Thanks

eBay is about your only way. Get one with a different fault and play swapsies.

And full of bad caps too one is old enough. SMD electrolytics and can stink like rotten fish.

Kenwood KX-56CW Duel Cassette Deck Repair
        by dustfilledhobo
        Hello!

I'm trying to fix my Kenwood KX-56CW dual cassette deck (seen in the picture below).

Everything functions as it should except that the motor for tape deck B plays back extremely fast (tape deck A functions properly). I've located the two trim pots on the board that control the speed of deck B and they were only able to bring the speed down a little bit. I was able to find a schematic online (attached) with suggested voltages, so I measured the board while playing a tape in deck B (as per the instructions on the schematic). Some voltages were...

Steam Deck: how to solder 3 pin POWER BUTTON with one missing (ripped-off) solder pad?
        by Jim Farid

The middle pad (B) on my steam deck's power button got ripped off. I want to bridge the middle pin to a via or another pad but don't know which one. Do you guys know any?

The pads with the stars are all ground.

In case there's no pad I can bridge to, do you know how to turn my deck on without using the power button? Thanks a lot 🙏....

Anyone have experience with an RC driven temporary "ON" transistor switch?
        by EasyG0ing1
        Hello,

The idea is to use a transistor to activate a latching relay once a voltage is applied but to prevent a constant voltage from being applied to the relay coil, I thought it might be a good idea if it were possible to make sure that the voltage applied to the coil is temporary even though the source voltage could be "ON" for long periods of time.

This is the circuit that I came up with. I have not tested it yet because I don't have the relay yet, though I am looking for anyone who might have experience with this kind of a setup to hopefully offer some advice,...

Zotac RTX 3060 , another learning experience
        by 90Ninety
Disclaimer Firstly I am by no means expert and this is still a learning experience , I buy broken stuff , with the intention to fix or learn something by failing.. I wanna break this into a few sections, please feel free to mention the section if replying , to assist me on getting a better understanding

Part 1 , identifying Rails .. So for the record , I understand on NVIDIA cards there are several Rails. Along with their Supposed Voltages ( Voltage depends on age/ generation )

Part 2. Blown / Missing component check .. I purchased this from the original...
