I'm going to order up the two mosfet, and the fuse, not sure how to test that IC that BUDm was talking about or if you can on the board.

I also don't think my meter gives me any meaningful results removing those small blue capacitors and testing them, unless I can use the resistance function and find some faults that way.

Oh I thought in diode mode when you get a beep it means it's open and only get 0 Vdc on the meter

Meter in Diode mode:
QP811CS -- D to S = 0.00 vdc; G to S = .14Vdc


Meter in Diode mode:
QP801CS -- D to S = OL vdc; G to S = OL Vdc

When I touched the gate on QP801CS then I got it to turn on and meter showed 0.00 vdc

Meter in resistance mode:
QP811CS -- D to S = 0.1 ohms; G to S = 149.8 ohms; G to D = 149.8 ohms
Meter Leads reversed -- D to S = 138.3 ohms; G to S = 149.8 ohms; G to D = 138.3 ohms

Meter in Resistance mode:
QP801CS -- D to S = .4M ohms; G to S = OL ohms; G to D = OL ohms
Meter Leads reversed -- D to S = .4 ohms; G to S = OL ohms; G to D = OL ohms

It shows 0V (Vf of 0V) in Diode mode because it is shorted (or very low Ohm). Touch your two probes together in Diode mode and see what you hear and what you see on the meter then you understand why. You should read your meter user manual.

Understood Budm...any testing that can be done on that IC your spoke of? Plus the location number on the board? I believe you were referring to ICP801

There is not 100% test to verify if that PFC is good or not, just replace it or just taking chance of blowing up new MOSFET's.

Check the component that are connected between the Gate of the MOSFET and the PFC IC Gate drive output.

Saw your link for the PFC IC...is that part not something Digikey would have?

Looked there and Mouser and did a search on net surprisingly didn't find anything in USA, found a Applied Micro Circuits same part no. which I thought was the right one but not the correct chip

The description should have the word PFC in it. It is not easy to get part.

What would be preferred for mosfet heatsink. The thermal paste or thermal pads? Conductive or non-conductive
