Hello everyone there
If You do remember me then I am Belal who posted an issue of his J2534 pass-thru Multi-Diag 2015 OBD II device a while ago and aside from my thanks that show my gratitude to all of those who have given me help with my issue I just wanted to go straight into my question which is whether using the OBD II to OBD I adapter to diagnose an older model vehicle like a GM 12 adapter safe enough and not gonna cause any catastrophic failure to my device and if it still can perform scanning with no issues?
there's a link for the adapter: https://ebay.to/2UCWDDx
it worths mentioning that I was using this device to run scans on a wide variety of vehicle makes including (Skoda - Chevrolet - VW - Renault - Peugeot - Chery (general OBD) - Nissan (general OBD) - Toyota) and much more, but it's actually works like charm with VAG vehicles and has the capability of coding/adapting functions despite being a clone, but I used to face issues with a few number of cars that I've tried to perform scan to with the protocol ISO 15765-4 CAN (11 bit ID,500 Kbaud), these vehicles were ( 2011-2016 Renault Fluence - 2000-2006 Mitsubishi Lancer - Chery QQ6)
and I just wanted to get a way around it, since this device is actually J2534 Pass-thru based then it has the capability of performing perogrammming to a number of makes with each manufacturer specific software Like (Toyota techstream - GM TIS200 - JLR - Honda HDS) but it's a little restricted and might be compatible with specific versions of these pieces of software I mentioned above, it also can be reworked to be much stable and fast during the work !
please check for the software in the link above if You're interested !
