Plasma Torch Power Controller—> took a crap

Here we go again on this plasma cutting machine
First the chopper boards when on this machine now the plasma power supply controller boards
( Bad IGBT module when bad and what else I do not know at this point in time—> bought new chopper units I will try to repair them later when I have some time)

This machine is about 10 years old and all kinds of problems are coming out this unit granted the machine gets a lot of use

The IGTB module went bad also a 10k ohm resistor is open no reading at all

It has two capacitors that 3MFD that with my Blue ESR meter shows 0.00 ohms ( with them removed from the board )

With my Radio Shack meter shows 3uf —> so my question are these two capacitors bad

Below are some pictures of the board the two capacitors in question

I am also going to list the parts from Digi-Key that I think they are if I do not have the right parts please let me know thanks

    Here is the resistor

    Here are the capacitors

    https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...mSeq=279129017

Transient Voltage Suppression Diodes —> is there a way to check this type diode

    https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...mSeq=279142994

It also has one of these also

    https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...mSeq=279143532

I am also going to recap the board

The one thing nice about the manual for this plasma unit it gives you resistance checks to find out if this board is giving you problems or not

      UpDate
The two 3MFD caps that read 0.0 ESR value the new capacitors have the same results ( strange results )

When I put the 10k ohm resistor on the board I now have th resistance that the manual call for so we will see if the controller board works again or not

        UpDate

Put in the the controller board back in the plasma unit and it works very well

So it had a bad IGBT module a bad 10k ohm resistor

        Some very old capacitors

Any controller boards for this plasma unit start at $800.00 or more

I repaired this controller board for about $200.00 and a couple hours of work

ASUS ROG Strix- G513IH-HN008, G513-6050A3249301- MB-A04 (A4) damaged Embedded Controller

          I have an ASUS ROG Strix- G513IH-HN008, motherboard G513-6050A3249301- MB-A04 (A4)

When I received the device, the device has no function. After an investigation, I found that the PWM CONTROLLER RT6575B (U6100) is getting warm and there is a short circuit at the 3V3 output. This normally supplies 3V3 for the embedded controller IT5571E-128 (U301). When measuring and analyzing with a thermal imaging camera, I found that some components are damaged: SLG4E42553VTR (U8500), IT5571E-128 (U301), LAN RTL8111H (U450), LOGIC 74LVC1G08GW (U1900), RT6575B (U6100) All these components are on...

Janome DC3050 Sewing Machine Pedal Resistance
          by CG2
OK, this is a long shot. I got this sewing machine cheap because it's end of line, ex-display, and had no pedal. The genuine pedal costs £60, while Ebay knock-offs go for around £15. So I went for the knock-off, it doesn't work, and I'm not sure whether it's the pedal or the sewing machine that has the problem.

Now this is an electronic machine, unlike the old fashioned sort where the pedal was a big resistor in series with the power to the motor. Here, the pedal is just (I think) a variable resistor fed with a 5 volt supply, and limited to a current of 5 milliamps. Assuming that...

Samsug washing machine. Power supply DC41-00189a board issue
          by Soulzink
          Hi everyone,

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.
The power supply board reference is the following: DC41-00189a
I have followed one thread (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ingmachine-rel...

Help with freemotion incline trainer with controller comm error
          by ronnygracias
The treadmill was working fine, one day the belt snapped and after checking the unit I also noticed that the display is now showing the Controller comm error. So I opened it up and the treadmill had two boards. One is a power supply board and the other is the motor controller. I noticed there was a mouse nest, so I took power supply board out, cleaned it up, replaced the big capacitor and that did nothing. Then I took apart the motor controller and cleaned that up, and when I plugged it in, it started right up. I thought I fixed it. But when the belt arrived, I installed it and tried to power...
