Needs advice on replacing a chip

Hi folks, i have a audio board that has a chip with part number MCF51JF128VLH thats faulty. Its a 32-bit freescale Microcontroller. My question is, do i need to reprogram it or i can just replace it? The entire system is controlled by this IC. Im just afraid it will come empty with no programs.

Depending on the cost, I would still replace the old IC with a new one and give it a try so you could safely say you did everything possible to repair the problem to remove any 'What if' questions in your mind.

true it could use an external flash - but unlikely.

The thing is cant find the schematic anywhere in the world except for numark The chip is widely available but yeah just afraid it will come empty and its useless for me to replace it withou writing the program in it.
