    Sourcing a certain component

Hey guys Not sure where to put this but I am trying to find a fuse.

It is SMD fuse that is on a
    Toshiba SSD 128GB
    THNSNS128GMCP

Anyone know where I can get this fuse or find out some info about the specs on it?

Do you have good clear pictures of what we are dealing with?

Nope not at the moment. A friend brought it to me and I did some microscope inspection and then some continuity testing of the fuse and diode Fuse it blown. Didn't think to take a picture of it. It Almost looks like one of the fuses on a nintendo 3DS XL board. Got the letter "P" on it as well.

The bad part is that the letter marking on the fuse is not standard, if you look at the spec sheet of BOURNS (P= 1.5A) and Lilltle fuse (P= 3.0A).
So the pictures and where it is used may help.

Ok here are a couple pictures. There is an arrow on the one pointed at the fuse.

Figure 5 to 6 watts peak while writing so that's around 1.5 to 1.75 amps. A 1.5 amp fuse should be close. You could also try starting small .25A and working your way up until they stop blowing. A really brave man might just put an amp meter in place of the fuse and see what the current draw really is. Probably only a good idea after you figure out why the fuse blew.

Or check the resistance on the load side of the fuse to see if it shows very low resistance or not, that will be a start.
It may have crowbar protection diode after the fuse or shorted MLCC.

The part looks too tall in height to be a smt fuse? All the smt fuses I've seen are pretty flat and not gray color. I wonder if it is a ferrite chip bead inductor? I guess a fuse is better to limit the smoke if something shorts.

Samsung UE46ES8000 Blown fuse but no other signs of short
                    by jesterace
Hi I wonder if anyone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have this Samsung UE46ES8000 TV and it went bang during use. The main fuse on the PSU board is open. I've checked every diode/mosfet/transistor I can see and nothing appears to be short to cause the fuse to go. The DC output of the bridge rectifier is not short either. I've seen online that some of these models are known for having their PFC mosfet or other mosfets shorting and blowing the fuse but i'm not seeing that here. If anyone aware of these models having any issues to cause this? I'm reluctant to just replace the...

Argon SA1 audio amplifier power-supply - fuse blown after fixing the short?
                    by Babbar
I found a project in the electronics trash yesterday. A nice Argon SA1 audio amp with some electrical issue. Took it apart and saw that the 4A250V fuse was blown so started lifting components to find the short. Eventually got to two MOSFETs (model FTA14N50C) that are shorted and when i took them out the short was gone.

Now i didn't have any replacements of the same model of course but i found a couple with pretty similar spec i thought (K10A60D & K12A50D) and put them in. Also replaced the blown fuse with a 3.5A250V one. Checked another time for short circuit and plugged it in....

Help replacing fuse on my Mimaki CJV300-160 vinyl printer
                    by jshhh
                    Hi guys,

I'm inexperienced with electronics repairs, I've done a little bit of soldering caps and whatnot, but i have a blown fuse on this mimaki printer I got which I have bought a replacement for.

How do I remove this type of fuse (see picture)...it kinda looks like it would pull out of that bracket but it didn't come at first pull and I didn't want to brute force it incase it's soldered on there like most of the rest of the components.

Anybody know how to remove this type of fuse?

(The fuse is toward the bottom of the image labeled F2)...

                    Genelec 8020C Bad capacitor
                    by TomGJ
Hi All, So I have two Genelec 8020Cs that are about 10 years old, one of them stopped switching on. I took it apart, fuse was blown, and I've traced the short to one of the two large capacitors on the circuit board.

Now from looking at the Capacitors, they seem to be from Samwha's SD Series with the following specs: 3300uf, 35v, 85C, 25 x 16 mm Radial.

The problem is, I can't find any capacitor from Samwha's SD Datasheet that matches these specs. The closest is 3300uf, 35v, 85c but 31.5 x 16mm, with a max ripple current of 2.5A. I'm guessing the 25mm is custom made for...
