    Board number vs. Part number

When I am buying parts I always make sure that I buy one that has same part and board numbers as the one that is defective.

I have noticed what with some boards (like T-Con) there are multiple boards with same board numbers (ei 13Y_S120PAVLMB3C2LV0.0) while their part number are all different (LJ94-27996G vs LJ94-27938F).

I take it that the part number is always more important that the board number when it comes to matching? Or is there some cross-compatibility between boards with same board numbers, but different part numbers?

What is the rule of thumb if you will?
    Thanks

Re: Board number vs. Part number

You have blank PCB (Printed Circuit Board) board P/N which is usually silk screened on to the board, and then you have PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) which the blank board stuffed with parts, the PCBA numbers are usually printed on the bar code sticker.
Blank board can be stuff to make many version of the PCBA.
    'LJ94-27996G' is the PCBA P/N.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Led TV Board Replacement, same part number and model, different size
      by Cvrado
      Hello my friends!
I have a question that I think you can answer and help me with!

I have a faulty main board from an led TV. And I found the same part number board and design but is from a 43" TV and I want to use it on a 65". On its stickers , all are the same except the wattage for the LEDs backlight, both state different watts and LED Voltages!

So I presume that the backlight inverter section from the replacement board has lower wattage then the original one, am I right?

My concern is that the board won't draw enough voltage to the bac...

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100
      by JSin21
      Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...
