i can't seem to tell what colors are what. normally i don't have a problem using the color bands to figure them on but these 2 have me baffled. they are on a toshiba power board right by the ac input. any and all help is appreciated. i keep coming up with a megaohm resistor of different values when reversed etc. but i don't think they are that high but i might be wrong. they read ol when tested in circuit but if they are high megaohm resistors then that is possible because my meter only goes to 2megaohm aka 2000k ohms. the pics aren't the best but 1 from what i see is red, red, green, gray, black and the other looks kinda like gray, red, green, gray, black they both are identical except for the 1 band.

Re: need help identifying resistors
That looks like the high value resistors (M Ohms range) for the Hot and Neutral to the safety ground. Look and see if one end of the resistor is connected to safety ground, and if one of the resistor is connected between HOT and NEUTRAL. They are part of line filter circuit.
Can we see the bottom side of the board?Last edited by budm; 04-20-2014, 02:03 PM.Never stop learning

Re: need help identifying resistors
R801 is connected across L and N, another one is between N and Safety ground. They can be left out off the circuit, the TV will still work without them in place. Seems to me you have other problem some where else.Never stop learning

Re: need help identifying resistors
an older lcd toshiba tv model 37hlv66 i saw other threads with the same problem and some were either a firmware fix but mine doesn't have a sd card reader for the fix nor is it listed as 1 of the model the fix works on or switching regulator problems but not for this exact tv. i will open a thread for it either later today or tomorrow.
