Help With Identifying A Fuse (? I Think)

    Hello,

I'm posting this here because I didn't see an "(Help) Identify(ing) Components"/ "Components (Information)" etc. Thread.

I'm repairing a brushless DC motor board, nothing critical just a simple power board. One high side Mosfet and one low side Mosfet were found short (cross phases), and I didn't have continuity through the positive supply. Found two components that were not conducting. Their appearance was similar to capacitors, however they contained some writing, and they were online with the primary power bus. So I determined they were fuses, initially thinking they contained the letter S, I convinced myself it must be a 5, and that they were 5A fuses.

I ordered replacement parts, and when they arrived I discovered I made an error ordering imperial sizes instead of metric, and these are FAR too small (costly too... so that's gravely disappointing!). I went back to research more about SMD fuses and now reconsidering that these are in fact letter "S"s. However there is no standard, and brands use various symbols for their ratings. I thought a quick check on the Mosfets datasheet would help me sort safe currents, however the Mosfet are NTMFS4C302N, and rated for 230A, there is absolutely no way this circuit is rated anywhere near that threshold.

So if I could get any assistance on tracking down these parts I would be grateful.

dimensions measured roughly with a caliper:
    0.12..." (3mm)
    0.06..." (1.5mm)

    Please see attached image.

    Thank you for your time.

I found that result as well... any idea on brand?

I'm going to order some LittelFuse fuses, they have a 4A with an S code on the case, and they measure the same dimensions.

Samsung UE46ES8000 Blown fuse but no other signs of short
          by jesterace
Hi I wonder if anyone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have this Samsung UE46ES8000 TV and it went bang during use. The main fuse on the PSU board is open. I've checked every diode/mosfet/transistor I can see and nothing appears to be short to cause the fuse to go. The DC output of the bridge rectifier is not short either. I've seen online that some of these models are known for having their PFC mosfet or other mosfets shorting and blowing the fuse but i'm not seeing that here. If anyone aware of these models having any issues to cause this? I'm reluctant to just replace the...

Help replacing fuse on my Mimaki CJV300-160 vinyl printer
          by jshhh
          Hi guys,

I'm inexperienced with electronics repairs, I've done a little bit of soldering caps and whatnot, but i have a blown fuse on this mimaki printer I got which I have bought a replacement for.

How do I remove this type of fuse (see picture)...it kinda looks like it would pull out of that bracket but it didn't come at first pull and I didn't want to brute force it incase it's soldered on there like most of the rest of the components.

Anybody know how to remove this type of fuse?

(The fuse is toward the bottom of the image labeled F2)...
