    hi im new to this as im a carpenter lol but what is the best way to change a buffer ? what do you guys use ?

    A buffer ic ? I use hot air to remove it and drag soldering to put new one on. I've only done it once so you know it can be done lol. Full disclosure - I ruined the first two chips doing this but third time was a charm

      lol yer i messed up a board trying to remove one think i need to look for a cheap heat station

        I messed up a few traces pulling the original chip because I didn't melt the solder under the ic. Turned out fine after some micro surgery

        But yeah, I'd recommend a hot air station. Even a cheapo one is better than an uncontrolled paint stripper.
