ID smd 6pin chip - GM2 for electric scooter display

    Hi

working on a not turning on Wheelspeed WS1 scooter.
diagnosed - issue is the display/power button

on the board, with the multimeter I noticed there is a short to ground. as the red wire has 0 ohm to ground.
with infrared camera, this chip (photo circled) would heat up if I push power button on.
but I can't find any replacement or online info of this chip.
on the chip you can see it has a label GM2H, I have another good working display with the same chip but it has label GM2C

could anyone help me id this chip and guide me to mouse or digikey which chip I should get
    the scooter is 36v

    thanks in advance

It might help if you could trace the circuit around that IC. At least identify its power and ground pins.

          Did you fix the issue?

Also, how did the issue manifest? Did the headlight and taillight turn on briefly when pressing the power button?

            Still waiting for the chip
only able to find through eBay
            hopefully coming end of may

The symptom before I removed the chip was no power

press power button would not do anything
but when I checked with my infrared camera
            the chip would heat up
that is how I knew it was short to ground

              Thanks for that info.

When you're measuring the short to ground, I assume you're measuring it on the header that comes in from the master controller plug, and not at the IC's leads?

According to eBay seller the data sheet showed
                pin 1 ground
                pin 3 vin
I had short here or continuity
                when I removed the chip
then the short to ground was gone
before when I test for continuity my wire red and black was 0 ohms
                after removing chip
                it was gone
                checked the chip off board
                pin 1 and 3 shorted

so I hope that is the issue
hard to find replacement display for scooter
I have another gravity blade for repair
                Round display is dim
                can't see it
                everything seems to work
but I can't find another display
