I've been seeing them practically everywhere, heard some explosion stories.

Re: how bad are apaq polys?

They're probably better than the likes of Sacon, but I'd avoid them if possible in favour of OS-CON or something like that.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Re: how bad are apaq polys?

If that's all I would have available, I'd have no problems using them.

Keep in mind Asus used them for almost all their boards for a long time, so simply due to the sheer volume of consumer devices you're bound to hear about some apaq capacitors blowing up.
But you'd have to investigate each incident separately to see if there weren't external issues affecting them, such as a cheapo power supply doing ripple-fest on the mb input.

Seeking replacement for EOL Nichicon PLV1J220MCL1TD. Found APAQ and ELITE (CHINSAN)
        by DaveHarry
        Hi group,

I am looking for a replacement for Nichicon PLV1J220MCL1TD (22uF, 63V, Conductive Poymer Aluminum Solid Electrolytic, 8x9 but we can go up to 8x11).

While searching, I found some APAQ and ELITE replacements that would fit on our products (APAQ ARHA series and ELITE UGT and UPD series).

How good are these brand/series and what other alternative would you recommend? I've searched the big name already and didn't find an equivalent.

        Thanks!

        Hi,
I couldn't find a topic for this laptop, so creating one.
After a bios update (to the latest provided by HP on the product page, ver.F41), my HP OMEN 15-ek1060ng (46H61EA) wasn't turning on after a shut down. So after a reboot all was fine (not exactly, it has other problems, which I'm addressing now, probably with RAM, but at least it booted), but after a shutdown it won't turn on, only a CMOS reset would help until the next shutdown. I was trying to downgrade BIOS via AMI BIOS tool, but was getting error 46. So I decided to downgrade manually by flashing clean BIOS (ver.F39)...

        HP 250 G9 - short circuit 100%

        Good morning guys.
I made a mess. I opened the new laptop, replaced the NVMe SSD, and closed it. When I plugged in the power cord, I saw the orange LED glow dimly several times, so I immediately unplugged it. I could also hear a strange buzzing sound coming from the laptop. Then I opened it again, and only later noticed that underneath the SSD was an aluminum plate that touched practically all the underlying components... what a disaster. I still don't understand how I didn't notice. Anyway...

I thought, okay, I'll just remove the plate and go. But now the power LED won't even...

HELP!! Asus ux363ea Zenbook 13 problem with usbc controller
        by fixpcuyst
Hi guys, I'm having a problem with this Ux363EA motherboard. I'm here to tell you:

A few days ago, a client brought me this ZenBook 13 with a completely burned-out USB port, including the charger. Upon inspecting the motherboard, I found a lot of sulfate everywhere and a small explosion on the USB controller and the surrounding area (I've attached photos).
The laptop turns on and works without problems, but it doesn't charge (obviously), nor does the USB port, which is healthy (obviously, the USB controller is burned-out).
I'm attaching photos and I'll ask you how I can...
