Hi,
I couldn't find a topic for this laptop, so creating one.
After a bios update (to the latest provided by HP on the product page, ver.F41), my HP OMEN 15-ek1060ng (46H61EA) wasn't turning on after a shut down. So after a reboot all was fine (not exactly, it has other problems, which I'm addressing now, probably with RAM, but at least it booted), but after a shutdown it won't turn on, only a CMOS reset would help until the next shutdown. I was trying to downgrade BIOS via AMI BIOS tool, but was getting error 46. So I decided to downgrade manually by flashing clean BIOS (ver.F39) by CH341A programmer. It worked!

Now the laptop boots OK, but I don't know how to transfer DMI data. I have been trying to do it for a couple of days now, have searched for possible solutions on BADCAPS, tried HP DMI Tool (says "unindentified intel chipset"), haven't found proper macros for Tiny Hexer, and other software like NbDmiFit seems too complicated, as I'm not a professional service worker, and dealing with BIOS flashing only second time.


So, can you please help me transfering DMI data from normal bios dump to clean bios? Or explain, how to do it properly, it'll be much appreciated!

DMI, search for serial number (text, ASCII), select the block containing it, past some FF FF until you see the Build ID and Feature byte, there are different variants of the same procedure for other models, same idea applies (in some models the empty space is filled with zeros, in others the start of the block has some hex bytes, aligned at an offset ending with 000), you can use a hex comparison tool to help understand it better
For win key, search in hex for 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1D 00 00 00, copy that block, make sure you don't forget the last letter/digit
