sorry the 0.01's are caps but the ones reading 0.00 are diodes.

unfortunately, you can only be sure of the diodes removing them and measuring off the board. But they are easier to deal with than the ICs.

Whats a good tool to remove these little components?

        like to pick them up

never mind I have them 2 chips out and tested the resistance at the jacks again still same results

M 691 00A3R 806Ad can't even find a replacement on the net for that chip.

Oh well I guess this is a big waste of time these sort of things.

            But I have learnt lots.

well, it seems possible the main processor is toast. It is time to put the thing in the trash and buy a new router.

                Re: D-Link DIR615

I have plenty of routers just wanted to fix this one to see if you could fix things like this I suppose some you can't and some you can lol.

I have read posts about zener diodes being toasted on some and some with fuses being toast but seems this didn't have any of that protection the thing is toasted.

                  PS thanks for helping me.

Also I will be taking my caps I will be salvaging what I can off that board I put some new caps on it.

Now I have a box for the card reader I made lol

You can let the power supply conected, wait a few minutes and see if they are hot.
You can remove them with the air gun, but you should practice in some scrap board first. Note that they are tiny components, and there are other tiny smd resistors and caps around them , that can be easly blown out . I seem to remember they have a GND pad in the underside, so a good amount of heat may be necessary to remove them. Use whatever tool you are confortable working with.

To reliably test the diode, you would need to take it out of the circuito, but if it doesn´t give short both ways, or open both ways, it should be good.

The chips are not that easy to get, but it is doable. But the cost of components + shipping can be greater then the equipment´s value.

                    hi
i have 2 of these routers both with too much voltage added .
can you send me a link to a place to buy these regulators
                    thanks

That would be digikey, mouser , Farnell - Element 14 and the like. Those two regulatores I mentioned are very small and fine pitched, so take a look if you feel able to solder them before spending money in new regulators.

                        hi
i have a rework station but havent used it for a while
i know you said they have a ground pole on the underside do i just add heat to the top and wait until free?
can you give a part nuber for the regulators as reading them is proving quite hard
                        thanks
                        and thanks for the reply

                                Re: D-Link DIR615

Only thing I have is this datasheet. Only places selling it were the chinese ones, like Alibaba.com or Aliexpress.com. Considering the price of a new router versus the price for the components, plus shipping, made it economically inviable.
