    Re: what is this component

What's it from and is there a board marking nearby? Would help to post a bigger picture.

this part from laptop, samsung nc108...
there no any code-mark , or any schematic... one of them is burn-out... so this is the same part as the burn one.
      thanks for reply b70029

        Re: what is this component

Post a clear picture including it and the parts nearby.

I can't find a schematic and if there's no marking it'll be difficult, the best I can do is a guess based on what's connected to it.

I see at least 8 parts on that board. Which one are you asking about? Is it the 6-legged part marked "D9DA" ?

Please draw an arrow on the picture pointing to the one you mean or such.

thank you all for the attention,
the case is solved, accidentally i've found same part from another motherboard.

            Thanks

Acer TravelMate P214 - N19Q7 main power rail shorted to ground
              by mkdj
              Dear all,

I have taken out the motherboard of a Acer TravelMate P214. There is a short to ground on the main power rail (19V). I don't have the schematics or boardview for this board (DAZ8IMB1AA0 REVA). But I have found 4 MOSFETS close to the main power rail : 2 N-Channel and 2 P-Channel.

I have checked resistance across each of the 4 MOSFETS. I have the following readings:
              Both N-Channel Mosfets: nothing odd

              P-Channel MOSFET number 1:
              source - drain : 117 kOhm
              source - gate: 96 Ohm
              gate - drain: 117 kOhm

              P-Channel MOSFET...

Lenovo Thinkpad L480 : 3VALW rail shorted to ground, but I can't find the shorted component
              by mkdj
              Dear all,

Laptop is Lenovo Thinkpad L480 (boardview can be found in this badcaps topic). When pressing the power button the LED power light turns on, but nothing else happens.

I removed the motherboard, checked for shorts on the main inductors. I found that there is a short to ground on the +3VALW_P rail (@PL201). I soldered a wire on the PL201 inductor, and I injected up to 1.3V with my power supply. Current drawn is approximately 3.2A.

I used a small thermal camera to locate the shorted component. But nothing on the board heats significantly, except the...

              ASUS X415EA battery not charging
              by mferna14
Dear friends., working on this ASUS R565EA-UH51T. motherboard part # is X415EA R:6.0. The schematic which is uploaded on Badcaps is not the correct one. Can't figure out the traces. The battery does not charge at all. Firstly it was not turning on. With my experience, I correctly bypassed the 2 initial MOSFET & now the laptop turns on perfectly but does not charge the battery. Upon diagnostics I found that on both MOSFET (N-Channel) GATES volts are missing. Out here it should be nealry 24v to turn on the MOSFET GATEs & then the Laptop would turn on. This missing volts are generating from...
