Need IC (U2) part number for USB-SATA board in WD Elements 1TB external drive

Got a WD Elements 1TB (Model WDBAAU0010HBK-01) here which my friend plugged his laptop power adapter (19v) into by accident.

Luckily the HDD itself is OK but the USB-SATA controller board in the external case is now dead.

The IC (U2) right behind the DC jack (see attached photos) has a hole blown in it, and I can't read the number on it properly. Going by the location I assume it's a regulator or DC-DC converter of some kind.

Does anyone have one of these boards etc they can tell me what the part number is for IC U2?

I posted this also on WDC forums also but I don't know if anyone will reply so I've posted here too

    From the package and markings
    MSC
    ****DM

I'm going to guess it's one of these:
    NX7101
    NX7102

I can see the resistor and capacitor hanging off pin 6, the two resistors on pin 5, and the pair of large input and output capacitors and output inductor exactly as specified in the datasheet example.

Sounds good... this guy seems to have come up with a similar number: http://translate.google.co.nz/transl...fo-390201.html

Can't see where I'm going to get one of those ICs from, though...

After looking at b700209's post, a Google search brought up these full part numbers:

        NX7101IDM
        NX7102IDE

Since the last visible markings on the burnt IC are...

        MSC
        xxxxxx(I)DM

...it's going to have to be the first one, as NX7102IDM does not seem to exist at all.

Yeah, it took a while; I was just trying to confirm it.

        I have two v2s and one v1.

I am still looking at these boards nearly every day.

What I'm doing: Planning an upgrade of my mining setup from Block Erupters to Red Furys. Though, if the Block Erupters don't sell, I will keep using them for a while.

Thanks guys, it really does seem like the 7101IDM is the correct IC.

(I knew I would get a better response on this forum!)

Now, if anyone can just help me source the part?
