without drawing up a diagram i have no idea how that chip operates other than with the fan off it must be running at very low power to use a battery

Re: Suitable replacement IC? .PCB - X_BFJSFANRE_RLED_V4

Found a cheap U1 chip on eBay. Replaced it and unfortunately the fan still behaves the same.

The LEDs are now behaving differently. When the fan is off and cable plugged in, I get the usual red faint rapid flicker LED and solid green LED. When I press the fan switch to turn on the fan, the red LED goes solid bright and the green LED goes off. This is with the motor disconnected.

Once I re-connect the motor, I get some different behaviour. With the fan off and USB cable plugged in, it's the same red faint rapid flicker LED and solid green LED. Once the fan switch is pressed and the fan spins, the red LED goes solid bright as usual, but now the green LED starts flickering quite rapidly.

I noticed that there are voltage drops as well with the motor connected. On D1 (pad next to S_R18), the voltage goes down to 4.3V for some reason. It's 4.63V on the other pad which is slightly lower than normal (usually reads 4.74V). On the motor connector + pad, the voltage reads 3.99V. When the fan is off and motor is connected, the voltage here is 4.74V.

I'm wondering if the issue is actually the motor now. If it the motor, I may as well give up because there doesn't seem to be a way to access the circuit board that's on the motor. I'm guessing it's glued in or something.

It's a shame if it is the motor. I wanted to fix this.

Is it possible to hook up a incandescent light bulb instead of the fan and see if function correctly or not before you toss in the towel

Also is it to take a picture of the motor in question

klipsch kda-500 amplifier suitable power supply capacitor replacement ?
          by r2digital
I have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...

          PS3 CECHC03 60GB YLOD Troubleshooting
          by Woodsworth
I have a post on psx-place for this but thought I'd try here as well in case anyone has experience or the schematics or any kind of help. Here's the original post from psx-place:

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

7 channel NAD receiver,Need help identifying a suitable cap replacement
          by fytonv
My 7 channel NAD receiver has audio quality and volume issues on 2 of the channels. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they're at about half the dB level of the left channels, and then they cut out entirely. Powering off and on the receiver fixes it for a bit.

Without much experience to really know for certain, they only apparent issue I can see is with these electrolytic capacitors on the power supply. Bulging = bad, correct? I'm looking for replacements but I'm unsure what leeway I have with the temp ratings. Are there any other specifications I need to worry...

So I got this TV with not turning on symptom.
Using my backlight tester I confirmed that LED backlight is fine. Ordered a replacement main board TP.MS3393.PB851. With this replacement board TV turned on but original remote control will not work on a TV and side buttons are mixed up(for example if I press "Source" TV will increase volume).
So I swapped Eeproms and confirmed that it is a problem on my original main board, meaning with my original main board and an Eeprom from replacement board I got TV to turn on with not working remote and mixed up side buttons and the replacement...
