    Material testing

    Hello,

I need Material testing equipment for my project to find out the characteristics of a certain material (mine is brass). I did Google lots of sites like tensiletest, but not sure if equipments they are providing are suitable for my purpose.
    So please help me??

    Thanks,
    Kitty

    Re: Material testing

The machine that you linked is a tensile testing machine. I would assume it is what you need.

What characteristics are you trying to determine? Chemical composition, melting point, tensile strength, hardness, ductibility, density? It's been many years since I've been involved in this, but here are a few ideas.

If this is a real-life need I'd contact the manufacturers reps. At one time most of them were very knowledgeable on the actual capabilities of their product.

If this is a student exercise, I'd determine the expected values for the characteristics you want to measure, then check the specs of the equipment. There is no point in specifying a machine designed to test the flex point of a rail when you are working with something the size of a toothpick.
