zenner test will use a specific pair of contacts on the socket

I've just purchased one of these mainly because it's supposed to test zenners, scrs and triacs. Well, it doesn't. Fully charged it wont even test a 1 watt 3.3 volt zenner and does nothing with small scrs or triacs.

When you use this device tell me how easy it to set the resistance range and the voltage range and if one effect the other settings when doing your testing
Because section 4 of this manual is not very clear about what the range is in respect of one digit for example 1,2,3,4,5 or 1,5,10, etc same with the voltage setting
if it has a automatic voltage/resistance range how well does this work or are you better off using the manual configuration that you input to it

I leaning towards buying one but have not decided anything yet about weather or not it's worth the money or if will work for what I need for troubleshooting short circuits

Right now I can somewhat use my blue capacitor tester it not perfect for troubleshooting short circuits but it better than relying solely on a multi meter for this purpose and in the back of my mind I fear that I might fry this device doing this type of troubleshooting when this device was not made for this purpose

There is a connection that needs to be made about how many slave safety relay there are there are 5 of them

Would I be better off buying something like this meter “AE20218 Milliohm Meter Kit, 0.1 Milliohm Resolution, Four Wire Measurement”

I am confused by the specifications of this ( that are in this color )

“Range: Voltage 0~±100V (DC); Resistanceo 0~200Ω
    Accuracy: Voltage ±0.5%; Resistance ±0.5%
    Gear: Voltage: Automatic, 1V, 10V, 100V; Resistance: Automatic, 20mΩ, 200mΩ, 2Ω, 20Ω, 200Ω
Instrument test signal frequency: AC 1Khz”

Can this device be used on machine that have PLC and or Micro Controllers for troubleshooting short circuits I am in desperate need of something that can do this a multi meter is not doing the job that I need to do

Right I have an issue with a machine at work that is tripping out the safety relays circuit unfortunately there are four safety relays three of them are slaves and one is a master one of the slave units has burned up and two contactors have shorted internally shorted to 6 ohms these are 24 volt coils I need a device that I can check out the safety circuit safety without creating more damage to the system

We have wiring diagrams for the machine unfortunately because of it having three machines hooked together to making one big machine the wiring diagram does not contain the wiring between machines so it difficult to trace things down to how each machine interacts with other we have a lot of issues with machines in the past with the safety circuit but time this is worse that I seen

Before the safety relay burning out and the contactor coils shorting internally the machine would run about a minute and trip out again the manufacturer of the machine says that there a short circuit on the safety circuit but called tech support for the manufacturer of the master safety relay and they are saying that the status led lights when in the fault condition is not indicating this but they are saying that we need the software for the safety relay plus a special cable to be able to read the error code which my boss does not want to do

Tech support is not much help with this issue either because either they have not seen this exact issue before or they want to be one that are called out to fix the issue which not really any help

I am sorry if I have high jacked this post but I need information about this device that was mentioned if this post is going to work in the application that I am in need of

the screen will just be an ohm-meter.
well a miliohm meter would be more accurate.
i dont think i can hold a camera because i'll need both hands to press the clamps against smd caps
i'll see what i can manage.

unfortunatly - or maybe not, i have not had any shorts to locate yet!

i will say this, when i got it there was just the 4wire clips with it.
now they have a deluxe pack with extra cables that have probes and a battery holder.
i would recomment this full option.

maybe i will pull out a junk pcb and create a short just to play with it later
Please do this and please share the results because if it preforms the way you expect it to I might be interested in buying one
Because I need a tool to be able to find short circuits on board and other devices

the tweezer thing is much simpler so the ST clone is fine,
if you look at the package it's clearly not what is on the large unit

identify the wiring and your halfway there.
hook up to the programming pins and even if it's locked you can read the device-id.
grinding mcu's is a pointless waste of time

FNIRSI HRM-10 Internal Resistance Detector AC Lead Acid Lithium Battery Tester Review on some testing of device
    by sam_sam_sam
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/405035016711

I got this device yesterday and did some testing on some tabbing and some incandescent light bulbs and it seems to work very well from what I can tell but how do I know how accurate the m-ohms section is what can I use to verify it accurately I also tested some li-ion battery cells and this seems to be fairly accurate because I have another tester and they seem to agree with each other

I also checked some capacitors with it that were brand new and seem to show about what I expected to see with my blue capacitor tester so I think it...

Don't probe Samsung LED conector with LED tester, connect may not make contact afterwards
    by howardc64
Samsung have been using this style LED connector for few years now

Usually good idea to test the LEDs before opening the panel to change them. I do this without the PSU stil connected. With this connector (white one) have to jam the LED tester probes in the very narrow thin slot where the PSU blade style male prong inserts into. I've done this on many Samsungs without problem until today...

The female terminal inside the white connector has fragile fingers that grabs onto the male blades on the PSU's black connector. If the LED tester probe spreads open...

Trying to troubleshoot DDR4 SODIMM slot with slot tester
    by Lifeisfun
    Hi folks!
I have some kind of memory problem on Lenovo laptop. I was initially able to install windows after several tries since the laptop did freeze in middle of those attempts.
Eventually I discovered that it was related to moving the laptop.
Later on it even stopped booting unless I pressed around the memory slot. (no keyboard LEDs only power button responds)
If I remove the RAM I get the beeps that RAM is missing. Inserting the RAM there is silence and it will not boot most of the time. No picture.

I removed the board got one of those memory slot testers...

Reverse engineering of 18650 4-channel tester
    by spleenharvester
    Hi friends

I have reverse engineered this tester, schematic is attached and is complete except for capacitor values. These testers annoyingly have no model number but they are the ones you find on the first page of just about any website if you type in "18650 4-channel tester". There is also a 2-channel variant and a newer 8-channel variant. They are very cheap (about £15) and can measure voltage, current, internal resistance and capacity. They have a multicolour display for all these statistics. They also have terminal blocks so that if you want to use a breakout board...

Modification done to a EBC-A40L 5volts Battery Capacity Tester 40A for less noise when charging / discharging cycles
    by sam_sam_sam
When I first turned this battery testing machine the fan for the switching power supply was a little bit noisy but once I recapped the switching power supply board it quiet down considerably then I put a temperature controlled fan that does the mosfets control board was really noisy but now that it is cooled with temperature controlled fan that sensor was moved from the fan to the heat sink so now that the fan is controlled this way the fan runs according to the temperature of the heat sink

This switching power supply was really fun to recap the quality of the board was very good...
