Soldering a rear window defogger clip?

Can this be done with a standard iron, my WTCPS Weller station, or is it nigh impossible to keep from breaking the window glass with the heat of the iron?

My neighbor came to me and wanted to know if I could do this, as his father in law, a well seasoned good mechanic, said it has to be done with a cold solder unit. Which I don't have, as they're not good for electronics.

Just curious if I can help him out with my tools, or if it's too risky to his window.

Thx for answering my rather off-topic soldering question.

Maybe your neighbor can use this electrically conductive adhesive by Permatex to repair the detached tab on his car's rear window...

    http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-21351.../dp/B000HBGKWE

(he can probablly buy it, or something similiar, at any local automotive parts store).

According to some of the Amazon reviews for the Permatex product (the informative review by G. Perrin is noteworthy) it seems that it's important to also view the related Permatex how-to video on youtube to help produce a successful outcome. The instructions about the tab fix start at the 2:19 point of this video.

Nikkai EAPA 450 car amplifier rear speaker output is a low level and distorts easily
      by waigy
      As the title.
I think these used to be sold in maplins a lot of years ago, it is an antique, but it's just fine for my needs.
It looks basic enough inside with large components so I could do a full recap pretty easily.
Any suggestions on what component would cause the symptoms of low volume output on both left and right rear speaker outputs?
If I turn up the rear gain level in the amp until the speakers start to distort it starts to distort quickly even though the speakers are still pretty quiet.
I thought I had dodgy speakers as I just fitted new old stock 6x9s in...

Elitebook 840 G5 Bios Chip Soldering Question
      by Azurain
      Hi everyone,

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5 that I am trying to get working again. I've removed the front bios chip (the 32mb one) and have run it through HP unlocker already. I've uploaded and verified the new bin, but am now experiencing an issue that has led me to believe I've been soldering the chip back to the motherboard incorrectly.

Essentially, after re-soldering the chip back into its place and reassembling the laptop, the charging light immediately flashes orange and white and then shifts to a solid white. The capslock and numlock lights blink seven times...

I replaced all electrolytics in subwoofer, still get a hum in speakers - audio clip
      by Delicieuxz
I get a faint, low hum through my PC speakers, which connect to the subwoofer in a 2.1 speaker system. The hum drives me crazy and makes me stressed. When I turn off the subwoofer, everything is quiet and I start to relax, lol.

Here's an audio clip of the sound coming from my speakers:

      https://vocaroo.com/16HaryHwTx78

I recorded with my phone's mic right next to the speaker, and the mic picked up a lot of speaker noise over top of the hum. But I don't hear that noise in the room, I just hear the lower-pitched hum that's buried beneath all the other...

Mounting and Handling Guidelines for TO220 TO220F TO247 Cases / Packages

The TO220, TO220F and TO247 are the popular packages for power devices because of their versatility and ability to dissipate moderate amounts of heat. This application note describes the basic guidelines for handling power MOSFETs in TO220, TO220 and TO247 packages shown in Figure 1. Please note that only mechanical and soldering guidelines are covered here. Additional precautions are required for isolating high voltage rated devices to meet safety regulations.
