Re: Need to get some non-crap.
Well obviously a Hakko ripoff but looks better than my Jaycar\Duratech (not to be confused with Duratool) ripoff, and it's 60 watts (mine is 50 watts)
It also has a much better plug for the iron, mine is a really stupid design that falls in half every time I unplug it.
But it's not much less in price than the Hakkos from that Cantonmade store so I don't know if there's much point really.

Re: Need to get some non-crap.
If you are happy with the Extech, that is great. Now that you have one and don't need the second one right now, this is the patience I was talking about in some of the other "what multimeter to buy" threads. If the seller shipped to Canada, I would have been all over this Fluke 16 for $10 (Buy it now).

I have 1 good digital (Fluke 77)1 good analog, and a really old vintage digital radio shack one. Keeping an eye open for a deal on a fluke 87.
You can't have too many meters.
Well, maybe you can..

Re: Need to get some non-crap.
They have another ebay account but they limit it to free shipping items so they don't have the BS 5-star problem again.
And they aren't currently listing the station. [Probably because it's not free shipping.]

But yeah, it seems like their Vendio store is better as they have more stuff.Leave a comment:

Re: Need to get some non-crap.
It's not like I didn't research them before I recommended them ~HERE~.
-
Used to be an eBay seller under the same name. [That's how I initially found their website.]
-
They did lousy on the 5-star rating because of slow shipping times and eBay dumped them over it.
- People gave bad marks even though shipping time was clearly stated in the ad.
[People think they are going to get shit from China in 2 weeks even though the ad SAYS not, and then they bitch. - Morons!]
I've seen that happen to several other good overseas sellers. EBay is stupid!
Anyway - Read through their feedback for the PRODUCTS themselves.
This isn't some scum-bag dealer.

Re: Need to get some non-crap.
They are Paypal only.
You could gripe at Paypal about the bait-switch glitch in their shopping cart but that might get their account closed instead of getting the cart fixed and then you still couldn't buy the station.
[And I couldn't get cheap tips either.]

Re: Need to get some non-crap.
I done told you.
The tips and handles I got from there are legit.
.
Stop by someplace that sells Hakko tips in singles and look at the packages.
The front plastic is just the label & bar-code & so forth,,
,, but the back side plastic has this water-mark type pattern.
Not something a copy-cat is likely to spend money to reproduce.
Their packages have it and they are identical to the packaging at Frys Electronics.
[I took an empty package to Frys to compare.]
.
Granted I haven't bought a whole station from them but they are getting legit Hakko parts from somewhere and not just one or two parts.
And, that I know of, they have been selling Hakko stuff for at least 3 years.
.
If *I* were needing a new station or base that's where I'd go.
[Well, after I checked eBay for used ones anyway.]

Re: Need to get some non-crap.
I can't say. But it's the same name (Cantonmade) and they are selling the same items for the same price so I assume it's the same seller, just a different website.
Failing that, you could contact through the link I sent, ask why their store on Vendio doesn't have the right shipping, and then buy though Vendio if you would prefer that.Leave a comment:

Try here then maybe: http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/2...wholesale.html
Looks like the same guy, same price. Tells me free shipping even to New Zealand.
I wonder if they are actually genuine Hakko though?Leave a comment:

by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... -

The actual water ingress doesn't appear too bad it sat for a day but was very dusty internally. I have no idea why L8504 was arced there is no apparent moisture there or around the LVDS cable; however, the LVDS to screen screw studs had popped off at some point and somebody tried securing it with kapton tape.
I had to create a micron wire pad jumper to reconnect the south side of the L8504 since the primary pad was blasted down to the vias.
That said after cleaning up the... -
by corrizeHello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).
I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.
I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).
See the test :
