Citizen C27604HD not receiving IR codes

This TV appears to use the same hardware as Viewsonic N2751W which I have found a service manual. Initially, the TV had bad caps and a bad Q7 and ZD4 which I have replaced and got the power back up. The remote can be used to power the TV on but at that point, all signals are ignored. There is 5V and pulses are detected at the IR receiver output with my meter.

There is a remote keycode (power, up and enter at the same time) to bring up the service menu but this isn't working with the TV on or off. I would like to try a factory reset but can't get into the menu.

The application circuit for the IR receiver datasheet shows a RC filter for VCC but this circuit is on the main board and not the IR board which is connnected through 18 inches of cable. Don't have a scope to see if there is noise pick up from the wires after the filter since it would make more sense to have the filter on the IR board. There is also an optional >10K pullup which on this board is only 1K.

    Suggestions??

Is that the original remote? Do buttons work?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Yes it is the original remote. The only signal that it responds to is power on when it is off. Once on, no remote functions work including power off. If I manually power off, I can turn on again with the remote. Remote buttons are sending signals viewing the remote LED with a camera and the output level drops probing the IR receiver output pin with a meter.

Have you tried fresh batteries in the remote?

Yes, the batteries are fresh and measure 1.5V each.

page 18 of the user manuals mentions factory reset but not sure if you can use the tv buttons to get to the section

Thought I tested the service menu button key code before on the top buttons but tried it again with the TV on and it worked. Went to "EEPROM init" and remote is now working. Key code is "power", "up" and "Enter" pushed at the same time with the TV on.

Yes it is all working. I probably tried the keycode with the remote and not the front panel buttons before. TV should be on and set to TV input. The TV has some peculiarities - analog tuner only, menu only displays on tv input, input needs to be selected vs cycling through each one.

Thanks for the update which could prove very useful to anyone else with a similar problem.

DeLonghi AC Remote only accepts 3V
                      by cstout
Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

                      I can't find any schematics...

Toshiba 50lf711u20 fire tv remote not pairing
                      by Mc_Millian
                      Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.

I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.

I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.

Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.

The power button, along with the volume, back, select, and directional...

                      by edugimeno
Hi! I have this TV set that does the following:
                      1) I press the red power button on the remote
                      2) The TV turns on normally
                      3) After that it won't take any other command from the remote, neither power off, volume, channel, NOTHING
                      4) We need to either pull the main cable or use the built in button at the bottom to select funcion OFF

Then after it's off, it would again accept the TURN ON from the remote and same again

                      BUT:
-The remote does show the correct IR beam while observed thru a phone camera
-The TV works fine while using the MiRemote...

Please help, where can I get a remote for my subwoofer?
                      by rustinjust
I’ve got a subwoofer that I’ve had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I’ve lost. It’s a generic make of subwoofer, I can’t see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.

Question recently I’ve connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I’d like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

                      Is there...

                      by jesterace
                      Hi,
I have this TV a small 20 inch that works perfectly except for the IR has stopped. I have confirmed that the remote control is fine and tried an alternative and even tried with IR blaster from phone. Remote 100% ok.

Tried installing latest firmware but no change.

TV won't respond to remote at all, not even to bring it out of standby. I have to use the touch sensitive front panel to operate, at which point TV is usable albeit with no remote.

Tried replacing the IR receiver diode/bulb on front panel and no change so put the old one back. After tracing...
