When power is plugged in it has 5vdc standby and set turns on about 3 seconds then Shuster down. Same with both the SC and SS boards disconnected .Fans don't run either

Bloody hell, new TV!
Check all of the transistors on the SC & SS for shorts. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
Section 8.1 shows how to test if its the SC or the SU/SD boards. (7 Blinks) But I disconnected both the SC and the SS board and the set tries to power up and still shuts down. I woulld think that it would stay on. The service info says nothing about jumpering the P,S. for testing and the connectors are not labeled either. I would like to know if its the PS if I dont find any shorts on the SC or SS boards. I will check for shorts on monday. Wouldnt the PS run if the boards with the shorts were disconnected?
I used to be able to check alot of power supplies to see if they were good before looking for shorts. if I find a short and repair it then there still may be a PS problem but would not knoow untilliits all back together for a test.Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
I think these later models are a bit trickier for isolating the boards. I'm reading if Sc2 and SS11 are disconnected you get SOS7.
Is that what you have?
I'd try the SC50 jumper with the SD/SU disconnected and the 4 Vfgnd screws removed. If you still got SOS7 still that would suggest the Sc but you'd still have to resistance check the buffer boards.
Have you downloaded the 2012 guide? Not exactly for the VT but may help.
I think PSU is very unlikely for 7 blink.Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
The set came in this afternoon and I was trying to get the PS tested first. I saw the jumper test after I got home. I might work on it Saturday but that's my day off. The PS connections voltages were not labeled.Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
I think the only voltage worth checking would be Vsus at this stage which you could backprobe SC2/P2, SS11/P11. If there were any of the sub votages missing you'd be getting those blink codes before a 7. I would expect Vsus to briefly come up at startup and drop with the shutdown.
As for the pinouts, try the block diagrams. Should be enough info in there if you have no schematics.Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
Just repaired my tc-p55ut50 and it was a shorted su board. I'd advise checking the ground lug as the big screw that attaches the su and sd to the sc board on diode check mode. (Beep mode) on ohm meter and red lead against pins on the ribbon cable connectors. You will have to likely the flaps a little to access the pins but when you do this run the red lead across the pins on each connection and if.you hear a beep there shot. Replace
Internally these TVs are very similar.Last edited by freakaftr8; 05-05-2014, 09:18 PM.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
I tried the jumper test on SC to test the SU and SD but the SC was shorted shutting down the PS and causing the test to fail. There are a bunch of shorted IC in parallel. I spent a hour trying to find the bad part. Some were difficult to remove and the short was still. 01 ohms to gnd. I ordered another board. The P.S. would not come up with the shorted SC board or with it out of the circuit. Gotta figure how to test the PS by it self. No pins were labeled.Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
I got the replacement board in and it works fine, got the two year warrenty too. I found the short on the SC board. Three DG301, Q422, Q423 and Q424. Digikey and Mouser dont have them. Cant find a PDF on them to see what they are and what the specs are to replace them. Of the five different power chips on the board only the RFUH20 was available in the US. The RJU36B4S,
45F132, DAF30A and the RJP30Y2A were not available and I was not able to get a PDF file on them to look for a substtute part. Whay cant they use readily availbale parts!Comment

The full number is DG3C3010CL. Discrete components can be ordered through Sears, Encompass spares, SJ(potentially in the future) http://www.shopjimmy.com/panasonic-d...transistor.htm
Cumberland Consumer Electronics, etc.
Other places to try would be Ebay or UTSOURCE (chinese suppliers)
The 45F132 is a Toshiba GT45F132, will be a 45A 360V IGBT
A search would have given you this.

RJU36B4S sounds like a RENESAS Fast recovery 360v 20A, DAF30, DA3DF30A , 360V 20A Panasonic production.
RENESAS , RJP30Y2

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
With the RFUH20, the suffix is important too so RFUH20NS3S is a 350V 20A, single diode,

Was hasty with the RJU36B4S , the 1S is 20A, 2S is 40A. Not sure about the 4SComment

Attach is service manual. You have meter to measure with? At connector P6 on power board, measure DC voltage by pins 5 and 6Attached FilesLast edited by Neelix; 01-15-2015, 11:55 AM.Comment

Re: Pan TC-P55VT50 DEAD Blinks 7 times
Sorry for reviving an old thread.
I too, have a Panasonic TC-P55VT50.
It's giving a 7 blink SOS code.
I've replaced the SC board but no change.
When the SC board is remove from the circuit the SOS changes to 8 blinks.
Is there a link somewhere that has the diagnostic procedures with the blink code information to narrow down the offending PCB?
Any suggestions of what to try next?
Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Steve WinslowComment

That is disconnect those 2 boards from the SC, 3 connections, remove the Vfg bolts, (4 bolts that earth the sd/su to the SC) on the SC small 2pin white connector, those 2 pins need to be shorted together, Turn th eTV on and if it turns on with no error then you have bad buffer board/s,
Looking that way if replacement board is good and still 7 blinks. Above test though hopefully will clarify it for youComment

by mecha1166I have a XR-77A80K here. When plug in & press power, white lindicator light flashes on & off. about 30 seconds later, indicator light flashes 8x red. Checked Sony, Power reset = unplug & plug in. Factory reset involves turning it on, then pressing remote buttons when a picture shows. Well, neither of these "resets" are for a dead set like this. Anyone know what 8 blinks indicates, from the schematic? Thanks!

by esqmoooHello everyone.
This is my development machine. I've been using it since two years and half without any problem except sometimes it wouldn't wake up from sleep.
Lately the issue became more frequent and powering it up would take few seconds to show the POST screen.
Then the computer refuses to power on at all. Now only the caps lock button flashes 7 times then stops. The charging light is always on whenever a power source is connected (battery or charger).
I tried long pressing on the power button, after several seconds it would go off then when the button is released... -
by brithepi2kMy Samsung UE75TU7020k lights up fine when one of the ribbon cables are disconnected from the main board, lights stay on but not getting half a picture, I do the same with the other ribbon and put the other one in and lights stay on but not getting half a picture. The standby light flashes 2 times then reboots then it then tries to come back on again and just keeps looping until I take either one of the ribbon tables out (doesn’t matter which one I take out it stays lit when either one is out). I’ve tested the backlights but all working with none shorting out, I’ve replaced the main board...2 Photos

by SamungggI've happened upon this TV, it came with no power cord or remote and it seems to be experiencing a common issue where the red indicator light blinks 2 times then the screen flickers as if it's trying to turn on. No picture, no sound. I suspect the functions of the TV are in good order and that the underlying issue is with the power button which is missing. It's just a white tab where the button should be which means I can't cycle it.
I wanted to know if there is anything I can do or if I should just get a replacement module with the hopes it will fix the system. Alternatively if... -
