    w355stq

hi guys , here we are again after sometime of disapearance ,

got here clevo w355st one of many we got here to fix , this machine was with short on 3VA line , analising hm87 was in short in the 3.3volts line . so replaced it , and short is gone , the machine turned on , took some second to give image and entered the bios , shut it down , added the hdd to try it on windows , machine turn on , no image..
started cheking things again , Vcore on cpu is at astonishing 1.78 volts .. damm thats not good , cheked things around NCP ,all seem ok , cpu replaced same issue , ncp replaced same issue , sense resistors all ok , temp resistors ok ...

my question is , problem wich PCH could originate such high voltage on the cpu core ? (pch is another i had on another clevo board)
but it did worked on biggining .. here it is schematic

v core is just another step-down circuit. if u have bad voltage u have something bad in that circiut.

I'm not sure about this but I think on Haswell CPUs the VCore buck controller is actually controlled by the CPU itself to give the proper VCore. So if the CPU doesn't work/doesn't turn on, it cannot regulate its VCore correctly.

i know that lynx point pch have processor of 4th generation and the voltage is correct

also high impedance compare to other generation . 1.6~1.7 v to operate

begining from the first to the 6th VCore is controlled by the CPU itself ( vid ,svid).

              Optiplex 3050 Vcore Mosfet short
              by pavithra_uk
              it is 3+2 vrm
vcore high side mosfet (AON6380) shorted when turned on instatly killed the processor (i5 7400)
gate drive chip (NCP81166) also gone.

any suggestions before replace mosfet and gate drive chip? what if I replace 3 high side mosfets with more current capable mosfets?

              odd question:
what if I put two silicone diodes series in forward way? assume each diode 0.7v drop and total of 1.4V. vcore not exceed this but can protect cpu from direct 12V hit from shorted mosfet ?...

              Good morning,
This is the first time that I have looked into this kind of concern.

I would like to have help for the following card Clevo PB70DF1

The ITE5570E chip is in the short circuit and defaults VDD3.
On the diagram I listed the KSO0 pines etc .....

If I understood this chip is programmed if I change it.
Is there an accessible programmer and how to do it because I can't find an info for this chip apart from a thread

              Alienware X15 R2 LA-L611 No power
              by randomrat
Not having the best of luck with my own gadgets atm - I own two identical X15 R2 laptops, both have died suddenly with no prior issues. I have time to focus on one of them and in this post. I might need some hand-holding with this so I kindly ask for some understanding

              Make: Alienware
              Model: X15 R2
              Motherboard: LA-L611
              CPU: i9-12900H
              GPU: RTX 3080Ti

History: I was using the machine as normal when it suddenly switched off and never came back on. I've owned the machine for over a year and use a Dell Thunderbolt Dock to charge my laptop with....

HP Victus 15-fb dag3pamb8d0 Short on VCORE – How to Confirm CPU Fault?
              by adelfr2009
I have a laptop HP Victus 15-fb with motherboard DAG3PRMB8D0, CPU Ryzen 7535HS, and GPU RTX 2050. The laptop has a power issue: it does not turn on at all, and there is no light on the DC jack.
After inspection, I found that an NMOS near the charger input had a short. I replaced it, but the short remained on the 19V line. I checked the charging circuit and it was fine, but the short appears after the current sense resistor near the charger. The charger does not pass current when connected, so I inject 3V–4V after the sense resistor. No component gets hot, except the CPU which becomes...

Intel D865PERL - no Vcore after replacing MOSFETs and MOSFET drivers
              by kotel studios
              Hi,

Finally got time to fix this board up.
At first it didn't give any POST codes. Turns out it was an unsupported Celeron D cpu. After dropping in an Celery 2.6gHz the CPU came out of reset with clock signal, but still no post codes. For a while it did work when I applied pressure to the ADP3168 chip, but on next reboot the MOSFETs started to burn. Then I left it as is for months.

Now I came back prepared. Replaced the bad MOSFETs and the ADPxx18k drivers. Now I don't get any MOSFETs blowing up issues anymore. But sadly, the Vcore is missing. The whole VRM isn't...
