hi, for everyone looking for unlock passwords. if you can boot to a cd, the dell service tag utility is a simple resolution to any of these issues. boot from the service tag cd, then change your service tag to something appropriate (any other service tag) and the utility scrubs the prom - eprom -whatever? when you reboot there should be no more lock. I lost my bios setup password for a -3a5b and could not find the password utility so I did this and problem fixed. I returned it back to the old service tag and done. I don't understand that the people giving advice did not know this? I used a disk I had laying around scvtag.exe, I believe it's the same thing available as a torrent? if not I can post it, it seems allot of fuss for nothing. is there a reason this should not cover all the bases?
