    Re: BGA Replacement

    Welcome, sebuncle!

BGA chips are a nightmare to work with (as well as troubleshoot) and require expensive equipment to remove them, as well as solder new ones in their place, which requires great skill.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

BGA reballing can be done, I've seen how they do it, but a reball will cost you a lot, especially if the guy doesn't have the stencils. It's not as difficult as it looks, but someone here mentioned that it's not just the unleaded solder which is the problem with nVidia, it's also the fact that the die is missing heat dissipation metal.

So what's the point of replacing the chip if you can just reflow it. Maybe the new one will last a little longer. Yesterday I did a reflow on a motherboard with nForce 6. It worked for as long as I needed it (Install Windows XP and flash my XBOX DVD) and will probably work for a few months more but I'm not using it in my system.
"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

          Re: BGA Replacement

          generally nvidia chips are defective.
rebailling rarely repaired and motherboard will not accept too many firing cycles to solder and desoldering
I prefer to change the chip as the reballing

            Re: BGA Replacement

you need to lower the core voltage and the clockspeed.

they die because nvidia overclocked them to make the performance look better against ati chips.

              Re: BGA Replacement

nVidia cards fail due to improper underfill used in the die itself, the BGA interconnect solder balls are also somewhat to blame, but the biggest problem is internal in the die

sebuncle; are these BGA's you list using the new updated Hitachi Underfill? (That supposedly fix the problem)

                Hello,
I just upgraded my HP DV9500 laptop motherboard. Originally had G86-730-A2 and 128 mb ddr2. I replaced the G86-730-A2 with G86-771-A2 wich is the newest version of G86. First time I didn't have signal on the lcd screen. Then I added four DDR2 chips on the non-populated locations of the motherboard. After that the laptop started normally. Now I have 256 MB on the video card that are also recognized by Windows. Hope that this experience will help somebody.

since see_ic is one of the best enterprises counterfaking chipset , if you got some skill chek a board with a original chipset , then look to they're chipset specially the laser write on each die !!!
                        buts that just an advise.

gcomputer , you can top edge equipments , if you dont have good electronic component you can put your automatic or semiautomatic to the garbage , because it will not save your work ! simples as that .
i also got the zuomau , and if a chip is not 100% ok , then nothing will save you.

dellxps , yes a few times , even saying brand new chips , and we could notice very easily that the gpu were completely refurbished . and many times they were laser rewritable ..

if you want a trusting seller , ask him about the certificate for each chip

and not company certificate ,,, because they dont make them ,, who make the chips give a certificate , if not certificate then ,,,removed frmo outher board or bought on bulks somewere else

I agree with you if the chip is dead the equipments cant do anything , but if you don t have the right equipments you cant be sure if the chip is dead or i have wrong the work (bga), with Jovy the mainboard and the chip buried during the process , only to stack the chip make 20 min , with Zm-r6200 take 2 minuts to stack the chip and no buried anything.

Anyway the best s to replace with new chip.

I buy from Chelison on aliexpress 2014 model .
