    GX280 dell tower

I got a GX280 that will not recognize any of the drives. After spending a few hrs on the phone with a tech, he tells me the motherboard is bad. I started searching the web and found this site. And decided to open the case and found that 3 caps on top of the DDR2 slots are bulging.

I was wondering if anybody has motherboards that are already replaced with new caps and do trade ins. I need this computer for my cnc machines but i can not afford a large tab. Any help to a solution...

wrong section... you could send it to topcat and he could recap it ... might be cheaper than a trade in... do you know how to solder? at all?

MODS- could this be moved to the looking to buy section?

if you want an idea about price on anything, you can not get it without knowing where you are.. shipping in country is obviously going to be much cheaper then overseas, etc..

and as they said, if you know someone that knows how to solder, ask them if they can do it, or you could try doing it yourself, or send it to topcap and have him do it.. maybe new board off ebay, etc..

**Need Help Unlocking BIOS and Hard Drive on Dell Precision 5820 Tower**
        by federalhouse
        Hi everyone,

I'm in need of assistance with a Dell Precision 5820 Tower. The BIOS is locked with "Dell Security Manager," preventing access to the HDD-1 hard drive.

        **Background:**

I recently purchased this Dell Precision 5820 Tower from a recycler who salvages equipment from abandoned office spaces. The computer was left behind by its previous owner and was password locked. Given that it can run Windows 11, I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade my setup.

        **What I've Tried So Far:**

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

DELL Precision 3660 Tower Workstation BIOS
        by cozily
I bought a DELL Precision 3660 Tower Workstation from a second-hand seller. After bringing it home, I found out it was actually a testing unit. The BIOS cannot be upgraded (only the ME and PD2 sections are upgradable), and there are test messages displayed during boot, which really affects the user experience.

Upon inspecting the motherboard, I noticed that the BIOS is composed of two chips: one 8-pin 16MB chip and one 16-pin 32MB chip.

I acquired two new chips from another source containing the official BIOS version, but after installing them, I found that none of the...
