    Verizon DSL TECH Blows

Well my DSL has been not so great for the past two weeks or so. I could aways get a connection but it was slow and would lock up from time to time. I was thinking since my modem/router has four or so years on it that it was failing. We had a big rain storm the other day and my DSL went nuts. It ether didn't have a connection or it would loose the connection it had. When I was on the phone talking to my brother I herd someone dialing a phone on our line then their phone call was answered by a Verizon Tech...LOL I was funny because we could all talk to each other. My brother and I hung up. I retried the call and got and even better connection with the woman, Verizon, and my brother at the sametime. I hung up again. On the next try I could hear her dialing again but her call did go to Verizon. It connected to me. Her name is Debbie...LOL. All she said was "Oh this stupid phone" and hung up. Well we called Verizon repair sometime later. First the Tech tells the wife to rebbot the modem??? She said no I'm not doing that because it isn't the issue. Next the Tech wanted her go outside and mess with the crap in the gray box on the house. She said "No thats not my responsibility"... So my wife tells them to fix it. The Tech said he could have someone out here in four days??? My wife told him here are your two options...Fix it now or I close the full account today... I have my DSL as well as my father FIOS on this account. I guess he was looking at a screen that told him the same. She ended up with a three month credit on the complete account and they had this mess fixed in two hours.... Where in the hell do they get these "techs"??? They are dumber than the dingleberries that sometimes get stuck to the hair on my Maltese dogs butt! I mean for real...I have one line into this house. There is noway in hell to cross this line with another at the box on my house. The DSL modem can't do it ether because its on the very same line.... Sometimes I think that AT&T wasn't all that bad. At least they could fix something now and then without coming off as stupid asses!

dont feel bad.they treat their business customers like shit too.
i got a call to a regular of mines business.
the dsl was sick.i diagnosed it as a bad power supply on the modem.get this!
the wait to get a new modem was 6 weeks!
    not acceptable.
i fixed the power supply and got them going again.
got roadrunner installed in 2 days.switched it all over and called to cancel verizon.boy were they upset!
we cancelled verizon for both the north and south locations.each had 2 lines.kept shunting my call to "customer retention"
i told them it was far too late now.then the call would drop.it took a nastygram from their attorney to cancel service.then they sent a $2500 bill for the equipment that they refused to pick up.attorney offered to let them pick up the stuff.never heard from them again.i think he told them to cancel the bill or come to court.

I believe (and it is true) that poor customer service can cost your business dearly.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

That is so true....I would be willing to pay more for a different DSL service if I knew that they had it happening on the Tech side. I don't use the Techs often but when I do I need them to know what they are doing.

          Re: Verizon DSL TECH Blows

I had a somewhat similar (or maybe i should say multiple) experience with them too.

I had Verizon DSL. When the weather was nice and sunny, then the DSL would work with no problems, but every time that it rained, the DSL would act up. It would very from time to time to how bad it would act up. The things that would make a difference is how bad it rained and if we got new neighbors. The woman 3 houses down the street from me rents out the upstairs apartment. and guess what, the signal comes from that way. 4 houses down has DSL and no problems and since the sensitivity to the rain changes every time that someone moved in out out changed, it leads me to believe that something was not sealed up on the pole for that connection box. Right now you would think it would be a straight forward "we know where the problem is" right? wrong. I called up to verizon tech support. I tell them what is going on and that it only happens when it rains. Their response. try rebooting the router.. huh?? the router is inside?? how the heck is it effected by when it rains?? then we go through this and that.. the final verdict from them.. the cord from the DSL modem to the wall jack is too long.. Wait... isn't that inside the house too??? so explain this to me, how is the cord being too long inside the house and the modem inside the house only effected by the rain?? I'm like, they are so full of !*@#$%!!!!!

well, I'm like, i can live with it if it is just once in a while, then one day when we got a snow storm and it was out for almost 24 hours I called them back. Their response, "There is a storm going through. Wait until tomorrow and if it is still not up then call back again" Needless to say i am getting a little pissed at this time but am like OK. 24 hours later and still no service, call them back and they finally decide to send a tech out. we will be out on (cant remember now) say Wednesday. No time, not morning, afternoon, or evening or anything, just that day. I stayed home all day except 5 minutes to go to the store that was 1 block away (and trust me, these are not very big blocks) to get some milk. I get home, check the answering machine, their is a call from them on it. It was left like maybe 2 minutes ago. I directly call them back. they have to reschedule. HUH? You just hung up from calling me? Ok fine, they reschedule. this time i stay home all day for the rescheduled day. They never show up, nor do they call!! I say fuck them.. call Time Warner and get cable internet. not too long after that i got a VOIP service and dropped their phone service too.

As for the phone service, we had paid for that in home protection service that pays for having the wiring fixed if there is a problem. We had paid for this for something like 10 to 15 years and had never used it. Well the one wire that went upstairs was getting brittle and every time that someone bumped it, it would move and the wire would break. I kept shortening it every time that it happened until it was too short to connect anymore. Gave Verizon a call up, they came out to the house, took one look at the wire, said we didn't install this and will NOT warranty it. We will on the on the hand warranty it if you pay up to completely re-wire the whole house. Wait? what the heck have we been paying for for the past 10-15 years for them?? I don't know who installed the wire, All i know is it was old, the standard 4 wire in a round plastic casing type of stuff. that was the part that pissed us off to drop their home phone service for a VOIP service. and for the record, the house did get re-wired. I had a roll of cat5 network cable here. I used that and re-wired the whole house in that..

So yes, it does not matter where you are, Verizon screws pretty much just about everyone. and what makes me laugh is that they are too stupid to realize that they are loosing more money by the people that drop their service because of their crap then what they gain by getting out of fixing things right from the beginning..

PS. my neighbor a couple house the other side of me just started asking about high speed. I told him to stay away from verizon.. another lost dollar for them because of their greed.

support lines are all maned by braindead fucks.

i wont forget a 5 min (premium-rate) arguement i had trying to get a router password.
dumb fuck kept asking me what version of windows i was using and if my IE was properly configured.

and i kept saying "i'm using Linux, looking at the router admin page, and it's asking me for the admin password" - " so what's the fucking password?"

i swear these people dont even know what a computer even is, and are just reading from a card with a flowchart on it!
maybe that explains why the cia keep murdering civilians in afghanistan & pakistan - the Taliban are all working during the day in call centers!!!
