    PDF Creator/Editor

    Anyone know a good PDF editor/creator? FoxIt seems to be doing weird stuff to the file sizes of the pdfs I make.

    I've tried Nitro PDF but it doesn't play nice with server2k3 and its rather slow. I tried Abdio PDF and the stupid thing won't open PDFs, only "project" files. These programs are a joke. It seems like they either turn out to be bloatware or completely non-functional.


    I don't want to use acrobat as its too invasive and slow. Why is everything else such a pain.

    yeah i am using http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
    at home cos acrobat printer driver no work with xp64

    its only a print to pdf thing though. does it very well and smaller file sizes than acrobat if i print a word document with lots of photos. i use acrobat to assemble everything if i want multiple documents in one though so cant recommend anything else for that.

      Fox it print to pdf works perfectly. Its the editor that acts flaky.

        Yer I use this all the time. Works quite well, although it is only a printer driver.

          Have you tried OpenOffice? that has a nice "Export to PDF" feature.

            I've been using the SourceForge freebie for some time now. Works great.

            Anybody have an equally good PDF editor?

              Yea, I can export and print OTHER things to PDF just fine. Editing/making PDFs is however problems.

                OpenOffice 3 also have a PDF-import into Draw. Have a look at this page for more info.

                  so make doc with something else(word?) and print to pdf...
                  another suggestion for "print to pdf" is cutepdf....

                  i agree about acrobatr(even viewer, let alone creation) it's just bloat.
                  and foxit is crap...
