This is not the first time I have used the bootable disk I created to boot my computer, It worked on my computer, but now , my locked Dell laptop can not be booted with it , anybody know why ?

is it asking for a passwoed before it reads the harddrive, or is it only booting wondows and windows is asking?

Password recovery bootable disk? It may not have written correctly....Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

i have seen this, the laptop is probably uefi and not easy - but:
if you take out the harddrive and put it in another laptop, you can then probably run DaRT boot disk and wipe the password or create a shadow root-admin account.Comment

Or try password reset tool , which can do all the work .

I have this inexplicable problem from yesterday
Each time i start my laptop by pushing the physical power button in, the laptop keyboard and touchpad are available to me for use when the system has booted to the desktop (I can enter the bios by pressing on F10 too) irrespective of whether the laptop is powered by the AC adapter or the battery. This is normal behaviour
BUT NOW FOR THE ABNORMAL PART
However, when using the laptop normally, if i choose restart from the power options, the touchpad and mouse are non-functional when the system has booted to the... -

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first.
