    Supermico X6DAL-G bios problems

How the hell do I get into the bios on this board? It refuses to let me, I am using a usb keyboard, don't that if that will mean anything, the manual says the delete key, but it absolutely refuses to let me into the bios. I even tried ALL of the f-keys.

Hmmm. Remember something about this with some mobos. Have to use PS2 connection. Won't see USB or serial devices until system loads.

Well, I took your guy's advice, and it worked. Now the damn cd that had xp pro 64bit is bad, and I don't have any blanks laying around.

Other than scratched, broken, melted, how does a CD go "bad"? Try another player perhaps?

I've had TONS of burned CD's on imation and memorex media just go bad for no apparent reason, nothing would read them.... I am very meticulous with my CD's, they weren't scratched. My XP pro corp slipstream did the same thing to me about 6 months ago, had to burn another copy. This is why I always keep the ISO's backed up on multiple hard drives.

Admittedly I've HEARD of people having those problems, but I've never experienced it after 15 years of burning them. I've bought some real junk CD's also. The 100 stack for $20 kind of deal.

I have them not burn correctly, but that is usually my fault for allowing them to burn at the "rated" max speed of the drive. I learned to back it down long ago to no faster than 2/3rd's rated, and never have had a problem since.

                Curious indeed...

I learned to use only premium brands: Verbatim, Maxell, TDK in descending order of preference.

Several of my 12" LaserDisc have rotted out. A real shame, as those titles are out of production. This was a real problem with LD, but I suspect internal meltdown is probably a factor for CD and DVD media also.

I tell all my clients that CD/DVD are *not* archival media, and to make multiple copies.

The cd is a "cool burn" (no, you don't use it if you get burnt)

I wound up putting 2 gigs of ddr-266 ecc registered in it. 4x512mb modules, ATP brand, but the memory chips themselves are samsung.

Do you plan on adding more? With only 2gb, you don't have to run x64. XP pro will see all of that. My precision 470 has 12gb, now that needs X64

Might as well put 64 on it now to support extra ram in the future. Most of the time it will be hosting a cod4 server and running cod4 at the same time (has a 8600gt in it)

Im still not even completely sure if these processors are 64 bit support, I believe they are sl7dx's.

I don't have a clue what that means and why or how it would affect the CD and the loss of info?

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....
