Hello I just registered on this forum
I become expert on capacitors aprox since 4-5 years ago since all capacitors
on my computers start to bulge
I want to share what I have learned
of course Im want to learn new things
also I created for my self a special method to test capacitors used in computers & PSUS ....up to 16v
no special tools are required...I will share this info later
OK..now a simple anecdote
recently I dismantled my sister's computer/PSU to check caps for curiosity
was purchased on 2001 and she uses every day for stupid things like Office,MSN chat and Facebook
of course she never overclocked the computer
it's an M810LMR / athlon 1ghz /256mb ram /no gfx card/
The cabinet is small/bad air flow
but here is the surprise:
this M810 mobo is full of G-luxon caps 2200 uf 6.3v..all them intact..none of them bulged
The 250w ATX PSU have SUSCONS caps on all lines...all them 16v rated even in the 3.3v line....all them intact
I consider SUS'CON & G-LUXON bad-mid quality caps
but it seems that when not stressed that caps last long time
The point is that my sister never stress the computer with 3D games or programs that uses 100% cpu time
so...low stress=long life caps
bye
