Sweet fix. Now it's powering on, have you made the customer aware of the keyboard backlight issue ? You don't want them claiming it was fine before they brought it to you.

No, I didn't make him aware of it, I should have. In the past though, I call him to tell him things are broken, and he says not to call, just to fix it and let me know how much it costs. One time, I called anyways, because what he brought me costed a lot of money to fix, but it was like it was nothing to him. With this laptop though, it's not actually his, but it's his sons now. I'll call him tomorrow to tell him that the new board is in and the hard drive is working and the keyboard is working, but the backlight isn't right, and see if he wants it replaced or just wants it back. I'll let him know it was that way when I got it.

          MacBook Air 2011 13" >820-3023 A< no power (PLT_RESET_L missing)
          by _Cupa
          Dear community,
this is my very first post, I am quite new to macbook repairs, and I am excited:-)

I have a 2011 MacBook Air 13' that does not power on. No fan spin, nothing.

          Here are the specs:

          MacBook Air Mid-2011
          CPU: 1.7 GHz Core i5 (I5-2557M)
          Model: A1369 (EMC 2469)
          RAM: 4 GB
          VRAM: 384 MB

          The first question:
Unfortunately, it came with a 'fake' power adapter which seems not to talk to the computer. Sometimes it does show green light immediately after connecting it to the board,...

So I have this strange problem that has cropped up recently, this machine has the AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512mb video ram and the Intel HD Graphics 3000 built in chipset 512mb video ram.

          I7 2.2ghz quad core
          16gb ddr3 ram
          The above GPU chipsets

The machine starts to the Intel HD Graphics 3000 chipset unless I have any applications open that require the AMD Radeon HD 6750M, everything looks normal there are no graphics artefacts and and machine runs normally. If...

Macbook Air 2020 A2179 Internet Recovery and Battery Issues
          by cheebster
Hello, i have a batch of 10 Macbook Pros A2179 bought from a Costco return wholesaler.

          The 10 of them show the exact same behavior;

They auto power on, to internet recovery spinning globe, fans to 100%.

Power consumption on USB-C port is 0.43a, shuts down as soon as unplugged. Battery doesn't charge at all. However, it boots to 20V on the Ampmeter.

Based on their iBridge versions (4.x and 5.x) these were shelfed for a long time.

All of them power on the same way; 100% fans, shut down as soon as they are unplugged. Removing...

And i tested with usb meter it suddenly @ 20v it takes 2.6 ampares and cpu gets hot. Then i checked the baord and PPBUS_G3H was short to ground. I injected 1v to it it takes 350ma and cpu gets warm. After opening L7410/20/30 there was inly L7420 line was short then i injected 3v to PPBUS_G3H and it takes 2.5 amps and U7420 got hot and i desolder it. Now after that in the start it takes 0.580 amps and goes to 620-30 mili amps....

          Apple Macbook A1707 Hard disk
          by Eleways
          Hi

I've an Apple macbook A1707 with Hdd defect.

This product don't work with a normal Hard disk, but the hard disk it's a BGA component on the logic board.

          My question is:
Can i exchange the hard disk, by desolder the bga Hard disk and replacing this?

Can i replace with a different one (es 500 gb instead of 250 gb)

This Macbook has T1 security check.

          Thanks and best regards

          Luca
