I have used openwrt and switched to lede in 2017 as openwrt hasn't released an update in 18 months. I'm using the latest lede release 17.01.1.

i may not if it was a modern nvidia card - but it's not.
infact it's an amd gpu that is not even supported by the mfr anymore.

So no windows at all? I figured there's lots of windows only tools around which won't work properly through wine.
I finally got rid of fglrx on my main system...for a long time there was no better alternative for graphics performance. Alas even Firefox phones home though hacking it not to is still an option.
i have an old p3 laptop with xp for my eprom programmer.
it's never on any network and i move stuff in and out by usb-key.
*that* is the ultimate firewall!!

Not too far off... the nVidia Geforce Experience (installed by default with drivers) now requires login before you can use any of its features. Only one reason I can think of for that...
And then there's Samsung Magician, the SSD utility for use with Samsung drives, which has supposedly refused to update the firmware on one of their drives because the user didn't opt-in on being spied on.
And then there's Samsung (and other) smart TVs...
