Gahhh why do i keep seeing 'DNS server not responding'

I've switched browsers, called my internet provider, messed around with the modem... Why am i constantly experiencing 'DNS server not responding'?

Could be a virus that has hijacked your DNS, could be your router that has issues or it could be the DNS server you are using.
Does it make any difference if you set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 ?

I had problems for a few days with badcaps loading very slowly. Don't know if it's related to your problem I am from Europe... btw it's working fine now...

set your computer to use 95.85.9.86
ignore the router DNS - they often have a fixed hidden DNS if they are isp supplied. (or d-link!)

Well there was no virus, but you were right about the setting the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Did a fair amount of research on the matter, but google (and this forum) seemed to do the trick. FYI, there are some great tips here for anyone else in the same boat. Has anyone else not been able to solve it?

i wouldnt let google sensor my browsing.
