I've switched browsers, called my internet provider, messed around with the modem... Why am i constantly experiencing 'DNS server not responding'?

Could be a virus that has hijacked your DNS, could be your router that has issues or it could be the DNS server you are using.
Does it make any difference if you set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 ? -

I had problems for a few days with badcaps loading very slowly. Don't know if it's related to your problem I am from Europe... btw it's working fine now...Last edited by Audison; 09-20-2016, 06:27 AM.Comment

set your computer to use 95.85.9.86
ignore the router DNS - they often have a fixed hidden DNS if they are isp supplied. (or d-link!)Comment

Well there was no virus, but you were right about the setting the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Did a fair amount of research on the matter, but google (and this forum) seemed to do the trick. FYI, there are some great tips here for anyone else in the same boat. Has anyone else not been able to solve it?Comment

I thinking about some central LAN file server, on where I can put some files from other devices, or access to them, and maybe play some movie without download...
I never study this, but when I see that freenas need few gigabyte of ram to recommended working, some wiered partition, I wonder if I miss somewhat in the midletime...
Also exist "turnkey file server", and other turnkey products that I can not distinguished what is major difference and how it perform - no experiance at all.

Hello, please how to properly configure VPN in this environment?
I have two subnets in two different (geographical) workplaces, connected via IPsec (thru gateway routers)
Main subnet: 192.168.11.0/24, gateway (router IP) 192.168.11.1, Windows 2016 server (VPN, DHCP, DC etc.) 192.168.11.3
2nd subnet : 192.168.22.0/24, gateway (router IP) 192.168.22.1 - just client computers.
I need to allow external (home office) users connect via VPN server (192.168.11.3) to the 2nd subnet (192.168.22.0/24) to their computers (via RDP).
I have no problems with VPN connection...
