Many folks who are running Windows 10 on their computers, usually have a Linux partition installed as well. Regular folks do it, developers do it, and then the few who prefer to use Linux but are forced to use Windows. But here’s the thing, it would appear as if the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is removing Linux partition.
Alan Pope, Ubuntu Community manager at Canonical, took to Twitter recently to complain that he has seen several reports of folks claiming the Windows 10 Anniversary Update has been deleting partitions containing Linux operating systems.
This should not be taken as any confirmation that Microsoft’s operating system is indeed working against Linux partitions after the Anniversary Update. However, we do believe Linux users should hold off a while from upgrading Windows 10 until more information is released. Furthermore, we also recommend backing up your Linux install, you know, just to be on the safe side of things.
There is no reason for Alan Pope to make up such a story, so chances are, something is going on. If true, then this might be a bug within the Anniversary Update, something Microsoft has missed.
Personally, I haven’t installed Linux in 5-years, which means, I’m unable to give this a test run to see if something is really down. However, we’ll investigate the matter to see if folks are truly having problems, or if it is just an isolated incident happening but only to a few.
While you’re waiting for some answers, go ahead and download the Windows 10 media pack. It’s a free download, so no commitment. It should also be noted that Windows 10 Anniversary Update, resets pen settings. It means if you have a Surface Pro or any other system that uses pen, you’ll have to customize your settings all over again.

I took my one windows 7 install, cloned the drive and did the upgrade, after playing a bit with 10, I reinstalled the original win7 drive and all is fine, still activated etc.
I also have a few dos partitions and they were left alone
A buddy was complaining about 8.1 locking him out of partitions after updating. I didn't ask specifics but he dual boots with ubuntu and i'm thinking the partition was created with it. His ubuntu partition is still working i think.
you'l need a patched copy or a patch, if you got 10'd then your serial was re-asigned to win10.
Haha I have a random key gen so it will be fine, already done it on my moms laptop.

It's not appropriate to quote someone else's work in its entirety, especially when it can cause problems for others.
Instead I use Google's cached text version wherever possible:
I don't wish to be seen as some legalistic pedant (I hate the legal system), but I follow the copyright convention which allows for quoting sections of copyrighted works for discussion purposes, etc. In my case I quote just enough of an article to make a point, and I always endeavour to provide an attributing link or reference.
That said, I have no qualms about uploading service manuals. I believe that manufacturers have a moral obligation to assist their customers in repairing their broken products rather than profiting from them. In fact I despise those vendors who profit from selling these copyrighted manuals -- they should be free.
BTW, I don't know anyone who hates bloated, ad- and flash-infested web sites more than me. In fact I have disabled images, sounds, and flash in my browser -- I only view an image if I need to.
I have attached my customised context menu. These are the options that I see whenever I r-click a URL.
As you can see, I have a choice of 3 alternative browsers (I never use IE), the Wayback Machine (for expired URLs), a proxy server (to circumvent security blocks, etc), Google's cached text-only snapshot (to avoid crap), and I can avoid Youtube's crap by downloading an MP4 version of any video. The OffByOne browser does not support Javascript, so it avoids a lot of the crap as well.
In addition there are sites which I frequently use to search for datasheets, etc. Instead of drilling down through several pages to get to a search box, I have maybe 50 or more customised searches which I can call up with 2- or 3-letter shortcuts.
For example, if I type ...
fi GQ43VT14T
... it resolves to ...
https://fccid.io/GQ43VT14T
The actual search URL is "https://fccid.io/%s", where %s is the placeholder for the search term.
There are other methods I use to eliminate annoyances, such as excluding specific URLs or domains in Opera's Blocked Content.
