    Best Tool for BIOS Customizing

I've been using an ancient tool call MODBIN to change BIOS settings to my desired values, and to add a custom screen string such as TopCat uses on his recap photos.

Is there a better tool of choice than MODBIN?

Wish I could help. All I ever did was change logos.

Of course: the complete collection of bios utilities, flashers, tweakers and so on, the famous Borg Number One Bios Tool Collection (BNOBTC).
A guy, nicknamed Borg#1 in Xtremesystems.org forum, used to collect and release them, but in 2006 he stopped: apparently he found his work for the forum unsatisfying, claimed nobody helped him financially (though he never asked about) and started a bios-modding service for money.
So the BNOBTC files, previously hosted on Borg's site, soon disappeared: I have the last one, the Version 5, because the ever-delayed 6 never went out.
If you don't manage to find it somewhere, I'll send it to you - beware: it's a 63 MB archive, so most likely I can't send by email and the old site I owned (but never directly used) expired yesterday. Send me a PM if you need the file - I have to look for an easy way to send the file.

P.S.: Phoenix bioses are the worst ones: only few utilities exists, and no one works flawless. BTW, the bigger Oems seem to love Phoenix bioses...

Update: the version 6 went out, and someone put the file at the FileFactory server. The link should work - follow the post at Wimsbios.com.

            🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
            by macabook
            Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
            🧩 Initial Issue
            • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
            • External display (HDMI) shows
            ...

            ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
            by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
            Some issues
            A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

            Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
            by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...
