    Synaptic pointing drivers?

    Hi guys;I upgraded to Win 10 Tp build 10074 i had problems because this build came with touch-pad drivers by default,my HP Dv 5,6 have no touch-pad can i uninstall ''Synaptic pointing drivers''? are these drivers are for the touch-pad?,

    I've never needed drivers for those. The ones included with windows always worked for me.

    I think one only needs them for "extra" or "enhanced" features of a given touchpad.

      you should be able to 'delete' the drivers from the device manager when you uninstall them and windows should load its default PS2/USB Mouse drivers

        Thanks guys; How can i get rid of the synaptic pointing device update that keeps showing on the update box,when i go to the update it's there to install,
        how i disable this update?

          Right click, hide update.
          I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

          No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

                  Thanks c_hegge; there is not that option the updates in win10 tp are controled by MS i think!,correct me if i'm wrong.
                  Though i found this info,don't know it this works in win 10 tp,please advice.



                  Go to run and type gpedit.msc
                  click on Computer Configuration
                  click on Administrative templates
                  click on System
                  click on Device Installation
                  click on Device Installation Restrictions
                  Enabled Prevent Installation of Devices not described by other policy settings
                  Uninstalled driver ticked delete driver.
                  Also go to Uninstall program to remove Synaptic software.
                  Reboot
                  Disable or Unconfigure Device Installation Restrictions



                  And install Synaptics driver ver 16.2
