    Okay. Help clear something up.

I am about to order ALOT of connectors so I can begin to assemble the cables for my 16 port KVM switch but I don't want to screw this up.
I have never been good at remembering the gender of a connector so I need to know if:

    These are FEMALE connectors.

    These are MALE connectors.

The last thing I want to do is spend a whole load of money and find out O ordered the wrong gender plug.

As far as I know, they go by the pins, and not the housings, so you are correct. Though I have ordered the wrong plugs in the past because of the same confusion. You can probably return them if they are wrong, unless you are buying them second hand or something.

But I'm ordering at least sixteen DB25M connectors along with at least 30 PS/2M connectors and a whole bunch of connectors. Stuff like that has to be ordered in and once it's there, it's yours (as in it will take quite a bit of persuasion to make them send it all back and return the right ones).

Yes, they go by the pins and not the housing.

Pentium I don't know if anyone answered your question or not, but you have it right. The first ones ARE female and the second ones ARE male.

Crimping CAT7 connectors high failure rates
              by CapLeaker
I’ve had and got a few projects using quality CAT6 and CAT7 23awg solid copper, shielded, direct burial cable. Each time I use CAT7 connectors, most of them fail making good connections to the 4 wire pairs after crimping. I tied a couple of crimping tools, thinking my crimper is bad. Also used different CAT7 RJ45 connector manufacturers. Same thing. I kinda calculate 6 connectors to make one cable!
Get this: I use CAT5 or CAT6 connectors, no problem. Very rare I have a miss crimp with those. So what gives?! ...

              Are USB C connectors standard
              by Eniaro
I have a number of laptops with damaged USB-C connectors.
I wonder if I can buy a few replacement connectors from Mouser to keep, as it seems like the wafer in the middle breaks easily and oftentimes causes shorts.
I do know there are multiple connectors out there, but I'm curious to know which are most commonly used and how can I identify and purchase the correct ones.
I purchased USB mini-B connectors in the past, only to find out that the connector was flipped (Lenovo smh).

              Wine Enthusiast 170 Bottle N'Finity Wine Cellar Model # 273 02 70
              by magik20
              Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some guidance on repairing a Wine Enthusiast N'finity 170 bottle wine cellar, model 273 02 70.

I recently acquired this unit for free via Facebook Marketplace, hoping to fix it up as a gift for my wife. I have some basic electronic skills (comfortable with a multimeter, basic soldering, identifying components) but I'm definitely not an advanced technician.

The main challenge is that when I picked up the unit, the main control/power board had already been removed and the previous owner said it needs a...
