Bios patching

I really love my new pc, it's the fastest thing I have ever worked with.
It's got almost every common drive and I personally installed an MO drive.
Only problem is that drive B does not exist.
I want to use the standard 3 1/2" drive as well as the old school 5 1/4" drive for my older DOS games and so I can transfer files between the internet and my other DOS systems.
Which brings me back to no drive B.
Since the bios can accept drive A to be either 3 1/2" or 5 1/4" I can either live with shutting the system down every time I want to switch drives or leave one out.
I have no room for extra pci card and for now I have to live with a floppy combo drive since I can't find a white floppy adapter for a 5 1/4" bay.
Is there a way to get back support for drive B?
I have an MSI K7N2 Delta2 board with bios version 11.4.
Chances are also that the floppy controller can support two drives and MSI just enabled bios support for one.
I know it's kinda impractical to use a drive like that today but it's a great convo piece at a lan party.

That's strange. I had the same board (until it let out the magic smoke a month ago) and it perfectly supported two floppy drives as well as one floppy and a LS120 (which got the second floppy drive letter). I've never tried two floppies and a LS120, though.
Does the BIOS show options for both channels?
A LS120 might be a solution, too.

Nope, there is only mention of just drive A.
Drive B does not exist.

Get an LS120 for your 3.5", which works off an ATA connector.

No can do topcat.

There is no room for an LS-120 drive. The 5 1/4" drive in question shares the same bay as the 3 1/2" drive (Epson Combo drive) and all my IDE/ATA spots are used. The only available/unused mass storage interfaces in the system is SCSI or the two SATA ports and I disabled them because I have never used an SATA drive.

Hey kikkoman, when your system went belly-up, did you have an up-to-date bios? I don't think I have ever updated mine and the B drive might only be available on a specific BIOS version.

Are you positive your system supported two floppy drives?
I downloaded the manual and even there it states only one drive.
Topcat, you have messed around in several motherboard bios's and in some cases made modifications. Would it be dangerous to try and add the second floppy drive?
