    Best low-cost Blu-ray Player

Today I scored a HP CH20L BD-ROM/DVD+RW dl/lightscribe SATA drive for $20 locally... but of course, no software was in the box. FYI, I knew that before I bought it... as I got it more as a better lighscribe drive, not so much for the blu-ray per se.

I know there is no legal free way to actually play blu ray... But I'm not flushed with cash either. So, what's the best low-cost (Say $60 or less) Playing software?

PS- I don't need 3D support... my system runs windows 7 ultimate, with twin LCDs.

if you were dumping it into your Linux box i could name a few, but i dont think they have windows ports.
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Will they do encrypted (commerical) BD's?

if so, the thing is AFAIK 100% linux friendly... I run 7 on it due to it being twin LCD's and gnome shell not doing multi screens well (but I've since seen gnome tweak tool settings and dconf stuff that could fix it).

Repairing the Hitachi DA-6000 CD player
        by nervous_capybara
        Hello everyone !

I recently conducted maintenance on a Hitachi DA-6000 CD player for my grandparents : it had two distinct issues.
Feel free to share your experience if you ran into other issues.

DISCLAIMER : BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN OPERATING ON THIS SYSTEM : THE HIGH VOLTAGE IS VERY CLOSE TO THE VARIOUS TESTING POINTS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION

CD tray would not come out of the player
I could hear a motor spinning inside the player but the CD tray would not come out.
Turned out that the issue was the CD tray belt that aged poorly and began to...

        Victrola multi-player - No audio
        by kokopelli75
        Hello!

My mother has a Victrola Navigator player that stopped functioning after a storm. I checked out what I could - all player functions appear to work, but there is no audio output in either the speakers or the headphone jack. I suspect (with my limited knowledge) that the amplifier part of the device is toast. Photo of the suspected board is attached. There's separate boards for front display, record player, etc. This board has a section for power regulation and a section for amp. There's a UTC7266 7+7W dual bridge amplifier IC and a CSC2314F sound processor IC on the board. Visually,...

MSI twin frozr GTX 750 not shown in device manager
        by F-18
Hello Newbie here..., few years ago i bought a broken twin frozr gtx 750, seller said that theres heavy stutter issues in every game tested. i inspect it a little and find two tiny capacitor torn out near the pcie x16 gold pins, i assume it will be running in 8x ? the furmark-like gpuz test showed that there's indeed a heavy stutter and low fps but i tried this with EXP GDC and a laptop.
Few months ago i bought a broken Twin frozr gtx 750ti with unknown issues, i didnt test it and jump straight to thinking that i probably need to solder everything that the gtx 750ti have but gtx 750 didn't...

LG BH6420P Home theather blue ray player repair
        by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm trying to troubleshoot this LG hometheater player.

The customer forced her USB drive reversed into it's USB socket and since then the player won't work properly, only shows "Please wait" error forever on it's display.

Now I started diagnosing the USB socket and the mainboard where it's connected.

I found 20ohm resistance to ground on the 5V line of the USB.

5V is missing and I found the buck converter of the USB line, TPS65252 IC.
After measuring the pins I realized that both VIN and 3V3 is correctly present...
