    HP Dx2000 not booting

HI, i have this desktop pc that i got broken for free, i don't wanna to buy a new hardware, the mainboard is not booting, it makes the POST with no errors, it recognizes and test well various DIMMs , usb storage, hds, but it always arrive to the "CMOS setting wrong" message "Press F1 to enter setup" "Press F2 to load default values", i press every key but it remains stuck, also CTRl-ALT-DEL does nothing, keyboard is good, when i press F10 for network booting it does something different, or F9 for Boot menu.. i have toggled the cmos battery for more than 1 day, nothing different, i have tested with oscilloscope the dc-dc converters, no ripple, service manual tells that it has a self test for firmware/bios integrity that propose for a bios rewriting if is bad, but it doesn't, it remains stuck there, what type of problem could be? More a flash bios problem or hardware? i think the first.. but i'm unable to reflash.. On board there is a jumper that says:
"1-2 Normal, 2-3 Safe, OPEN Recovery" i have tryed all the three with no differencies, in Safe it doesn't powerup, What are theese setting for?

have you ever tried to program a flash of a mainb. with another mainboard? The eprom contains POST code, BIOS and maybe something other, i think the bios comes copied to ram at boot by default so the cpu access the bios to ram (faster), this is why i have booted a mobo many years ago and after detaching the bios chip the mobo still functioned, but i had no success in putting a bios chip from other mobo and program it, don't remember what happened.

Did you actually change the CMOS battery, or just remove and replace it?

          Probably a silly question here...

Are you using a PS2 or USB keyboard here?

If the latter you may be having issues if legacy support isn't on by default in the BIOS.

If you have access to a PS2 keyboard (the sort with the round mini-DIN plug) you may have more success with it accepting the keystrokes.

            🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
            by macabook
            Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
            🧩 Initial Issue
            • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
            • External display (HDMI) shows

[Problem/ Request] Bricked TongFang GK7MRFR BIOS
            by cr4zychriss
            Hello everyone,
I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo UX8402ZA BIOS
            by pirati
            Hello everyone,

I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.

When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.

I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...

I'm looking for a BIOS modder or anyone with experience who would give me suggestions about my razer blade's BIOS settings.
I can view and edit the content of the BIOS .bin file with AMIBCP BIOS editor.
The BIOS files I'm working with are from badcaps.net and those are CLEAN BIOS files (anyone can find it with the search string: RZ09-0421).
