    15.4" WXGA+ panel replacement

Going to upgrade my E5500's LP154WX5 1280x800 CCFL display to something else, as the backlight isn't as bright anymore and I fancy a bit more workspace anyway.

I'm after a 15.4" CCFL 1440x900 glossy display. Are there any particularly good brands I should drop my cash on or should I take a genuine Dell 0MY867 panel @£53.99?

    Cheers

PS I know the upgrade is possible as it is offered on the laptop as a standard option.

Did the upgrade to Dell's genuine NY850 panel (B154PW02), but two problems.

    1) The backlighting seems really off. Like, dimmer towards the right hand side, and lots of bleed from the bottom, and

    2) the colours still look really washed out, sort of like my old panel.

Could an aging inverter be causing #2?

    Cheers

I wouldn't think so, as the inverter drives the backlight, not the panel.

Dimmer towards the right? Are you sure it's CCFL and not really badly implemented LED?

I've spent more time calibrating the screen and it looks a lot nicer now, but the dimness on the right is still there.

It's deffo a new genuine (and sealed) Dell NY850 panel so it's definitely untampered with. The brightness is annoying but I don't think it's major enough for me to get a refund with. I suppose I'll just have to get used to it.

Aside from that, the 1440x900 res on this panel is MUCH better than the 1280x800 panel. Seriously I could never go back to the 1280x800 panel now.

Been using it for a few hours. Either the CCFL has "burned in" or my eyes have gotten used to it, because the dimness doesn't look as bad. And notebookreview has the brightness recorded as being slightly brighter toward the left side, so I would assume it's due to the panel.

          Eitherway, a very worthwhile upgrade.

LG 65UH9500 TV Panel replacement seal?
            by JayFixesIT
            Hi,

I am in the process of replacing the backlight boards on the LG 65UH9500 TV. It requires the separation of the front glass/panel to get to the boards. The panel is help on to the frame with some kind of strips that I cannot reuse to adhere the screen to the frame. Anyone have any experience/Ideas on what I can use to securely hold the 65" Panel to the frame. I would hate for the panel to fall face forward. Thank you in advance....

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
            by ttmi100x
            Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

            Upon closer inspection...

LG 49UJ6500 LCD panel lighter band that goes away
            by howardc64
49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.

Disassembled the TV and lifted the LCD panel during testing. Band is on the LCD panel (can see the band on the panel as I lift it slightly) Backlight is perfectly even at the top edge. Double checked LCD panel alignment in the frame and is perfect but since band moved with the panel, its on...

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
            by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

            tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

            QN55Q60R Service Menu Panel Help
            by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....
