Laptop LCD inverters, interchangable?

Many inverters have 6 pin plug and will fit in a variety of makes of laptop, but I do not know if the pinouts are the same,

Does anyone know if they are pretty much standard or if they are all wired differently by different manufacturers.

i think they are as i have swapped out many an they all worked.

From my little experience, they generally are interchangable. I've even managed to use a 6 pin inverter with a seven pin supply (for a dual CCFL screen), I had to remove a wire and swap the connectors. I chose the wire randomly and it worked perfectly for a year.
