    Modern Touchscreens in Windows XP

    Here's a real head scratcher...

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad P400 that I put XP Pro x32 (for some legacy stuff, like autocad 2000)... and as usual, the only drivers I could find from them were for the webcam. Everything else I was able to find either from the component manu, from the win 7 drivers (the card reader), or from other lenovo models (lenovo energy management). However, there is one thing that I can't get a driver for... the damn touchscreen! (well, also the MEI from intel, but that's not an issue)

From what the linux side tells me and what I found using Pirform Speccy, the screen shows up as a synapitcs large touchscreen... but synaptics has no drivers for touchscreens, just touchpads (grrr...).

All I saw online was for ELO resistive screens and the like... not what I have here.

my only guess is that it's meant to interface with the win7/8 built-in touchcreen tools...

Anybody know what's going on, and if there is a fix (if not, no biggie, but if I could enable it, it would kick ass).

To get an LG T1710 going with XP, I used drivers from http://touch-base.com/

Noted, I was preferring a freeware/open source solution... but I'll keep that in mind.

          Yeah, xp X32

I'll look again, they appeared to be 100 click demo's.

Edit- yeah, they're 100 click demo's, and the non-demo costs $218! Not just "no" to that, but HELL NO!. Even though my touchpad shows up in the database, I'm not paying that much for a f*cking driver. I'll try the demo, but only as a proof of concept. IMHO this is Bullshit... but then again, I'm not a corporation with a fleet.

If it were say $20 or a bit more, since the demo is working really well (it is indeed good software), ok, deal. but $200+ is for an end user IMHO too much.
          Screw it.

I shouldn't have edited my original link - this is what I downloaded free of charge http://touch-base.com/downloads/ITM/setup.exe

Don't think it's a demo version, 'cause it's been running a production application for 3 months now

No dice; thats lg specific... However, after 100 clicks, the "demo" driver compiled for my synaptics kept working... even after 150...
