Drives me crazy, Windows Xp SP3 default Directx9, FX5600, runs fine, reboots at 1 second of with 3dmark03, no BSOD, just reboots or PSU go to sleep mode, change PSU, same thing but just reboots (no sleep mode). Question is, can a SOFTWARE/DRIVER problem reboots like that? not freeze/BSOD, 5v line is a bit lower 4.76v-4.85 with BOTH psu

That was going to be my question. Board model? CPU? Cap brands/condition? You left way too many important details out.<--- Badcaps.net Founder

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
Sorry guys, it's old hardware so I'm ashame of it. Mobo takes power to VIO and Vcore from 5v line. It's an Asus p2b with a Cumine 1.13Ghz, I've found it's not an AGP problem, Microsoft memory (booteable memtest clone) show same symptons REBOOT or go to sleep mode. Board is full of sanyo and rubycon caps. It always creash at test n4 using cache, disabling cpu cache didnt help, this's the second psu (codegen with 30A on 5v rail)Comment

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
Are you running a mobo that gets cpu voltage from the 5 volt line or a mobo that uses 12 volts to power the cpu? Also the PSU maybe to weak for the GPU causing the restart. You can change how the computer reacts to crashes in the advance settings. Change to diplay error code instead of restarting pc.Comment

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
A bios update will not fix his problem. Without hardware modding running Coppermines on that board will not work properly if at all. He is pushing that board to its limits as far as the OS is concerned and the GPU card.Comment

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
Thanks God this guy had the same problem: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/14...g-test-memtest
He found that p2b is very picky about slotket. In particular, my slotket (Soyo SY370 recapped) was rebooting (or putting psu in sleep mode) at test 6 microsoft mem. test using cache. I know nobody will care about this, but perhaps it helps some retro hardware guy. Thanx guys.Comment

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
My P2B-F behave so weird, it didnt reboot, it freezed twice per month with the Soyo Slotket. P3B-F was a more cleaner design, almost bug-free. P2B-F has a very weak 5v line, tried 4 psus 30A+ and never go higher than 4.76 at IDLE.Comment

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
Google search for "photoshop bug". The mods should fix the quirkyness of the P2B-F and P3B-F mobos.Comment

Re: REBOOTS (NO BSOD, automatic restart disable)
I know that, but unfortunately all links and cache about p2b-f vtt caps for photoshop bug are plain dead, including using TIMEBACKMACHINE site, there is a japanese guy who made custom mods to the p2b-f (i think this guy's a pro), there is also a p3v4x mod (apply to p2b-f) soldering a bridge from 3.3v atx pin to the coil of Vio VRM.

by alambroseLG Gram 15Z980 picked up on Ebay for $200 (was sold as parts because no M2 drive and bios pw locked), but otherwise intact and working.
Threw a 500gb M2 in, and was able to install Windows. On Gram, Win activation is stored in the bios, so Windows was automatically activated. I still kept getting random bsod's. Also bought a pw and unlocked the bios.
Upgraded Windows to 11, still didn't solve the random & frequent bsod's. Cleaned & reseated all cables, RAM, etc... still getting frequent bsod's. Bought & installed a new stick of RAM, still getting frequent... - Loading...
