It seems on most all of the Epox boards I have, that once random BSODs start, and I RMAed the boards the first time, most of the boards still did not work when they came back. I ended up RMAing 3x crucial DIMMs to fix the problems on a couple of boards. Now that I'm replacing the caps myself, I only replaced 5 on this first boards, the only one that was showing random crashes (only in 3D games), but it seems it still crashes now and then. I wonder if a stick of memory flaked out because of the caps, or if some of the other non-buldging caps are still suspect.
Memory trouble?

Crashing only in 3D games can be a power supply problem and/or if overclocking the processor, not a high enough Vcore value or you overclocked the processor too much.ASRock B550 PG Velocita

You did not say whether you tested the dimms before you returned them. Anyway, for the future i would recommend the following free utilities to test sticks of Ram. Test them on a good board though because bad power to the ram would show up as memory errors anyway. I use them all the time before i install the OS on a new PC.

whether bad caps could permanently damage ram (with the exception of shorts and fires), i would like to know also.Comment

by EvazXHello everyone,
I am working on an ASUS ROG G513QY laptop with RX 6800M dGPU.
Originally, this laptop was completely non-functional. I replaced the motherboard (part number 6050A3254002-MB-Axx), and with the replacement board it started working fine.
For a long time, the dGPU worked perfectly stable. I played several hundred hours on very demanding games such as Cyberpunk 2077 without any crashes, instability, or detection issues. Performance was excellent and there were no warning signs of failure.
However, after some time, the replacement motherboard...08-25-2025, 06:09 PM -
by kokodinHello, for almost a year i been trying to make something that seems impossible, or my testing software is lying to me and it works only i can't see that.
I been trying to mod a memory on radeon hd7790 or 260x from 2 to 4 gb, but it doesn't seems to be as simple as i first thought.
In theory 2 workstation graphic cards using the same graphical processor have 4gb of memory firepro w4300 has 4 256x32b layout and W5100 has 8x 128x16b layout all use gddr5 memory and internals of the bioses seems to be very similar so i was trying to wing it , but so far it seems either tserver can't show... -
by puccovelliHi all, I hope this is the right place to post.
I'm having a problem with a Dell 9310 which is posting 2 orange, 4 white lights on startup (hangs on Dell BIOS logo). The service manual says its a RAM failure.
I've taken the motherboard out and noticed that one of what looks like an SMA 0805 resistor has blown (see photo). The board is an LA-J144P Rev 2.0(A01).
1] Could someone confirm what the component that has blow actually is (and where I could get another from).
2] Whether this component is likely to cause the RAM failure issue, and if replacing... - Loading...
