How to get dell 19" LCD to autoadjust?

I've hooked a Dell 19" LCD up to a Windows Vista PC with a Geforce 6200 graphics card in it.
However, it's the one where the front panel buttons don't work...
And on 1280x1024 (native resolution) the image is shifted to the right about 1/4" extremely terrible and annoying.
When I set it to like 1024x768 it autoadjusts to perfection, but of course it's not a good resolution... putting the sliderback to 1280x1024 fixes the resolution problem, but the image is moved over again.
How would I get it to autoadjust??
    Thank you!

PS: I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, it didn't fix it.

Fix the front panel buttons on the LCD or use the nvidia control panel and adjust it manually.

Well, I didn't know you could use nVidia Control Panel to do it. However, I found an easier solution: set it to 60hz refresh instead of 75. that also fixed the bluriness issue

OK, it was flickering too much on 60Hz. The position settings in nVidia Control Panel do nothing, either.
I have a feeling both position and blurriness issues would be corrected if I could auto adjust it.
If I leave it unplugged for 30 minutes would that do it?

If you can see flickering on a LCD at 60Hz then my friend pass me some of what your smoking.

If the position settings in the Nvidia Control Panel are not moving the position of the picture when you change them then you have much larger issues than the buttons on the front of the LCD.

Leaving it unplugged for 30 minutes will do nothing but save you some on your electric bill.

The blurriness and misposition suggests this is the "phase" or "image lock" setting being wrong (this adjusts the phase of the ADC PLL that should be synchronized to each line's start.) I guess you're using VGA output as DVI doesn't require this.

Just fix the damn buttons. How hard can it be?

Well, some sort of liquid was spilled on the screen, it seeped into the front panel buttons and none of them work. Thankfully it's stuck on, not off.
I picked this up for $5 off Craigslist, remember?

Isn't there some sort of hard reset function?

Then open it up and clean the buttons.

No luck. I didn't try cleaning it again... instead I tried to figure out whether the buttons themselves were shot (in which case the shorting of the pins would simply turn the screen on/off) well nothing works!

I've uploaded two pictures. The first attachment is in good quality, the second is annoted, resized, and reduced in quality (circled=pins, X=button not working). So if you've got limited bandwidht only look at the 2nd one

Any help would be appreciated. I want this thing working right!

What did you use to clean the board? Have you tried disconnecting the board and cleaning the contacts and the cable pins?

"The first attachment is in good quality"

It might be good quality but it would help if it was in focus

Do you mean shorted 1 the pins on the buttons or 2 pins on the button board or 3 pins on the board on the other end - main board?

If 1 try 2 if 2 try 3 if 3 can we have a clear in focus picture of the area around the button connector on the main board..
