Can I simply delete the "private" folder from my Mac?

This folder accumulated lots of .asl files, constantly reducing my hard disk space - not sure if it's because of my work with Photoshop.
Is it safe to simply delete the private folder, or is it better to only delete the files?
Currently I have 23.8 GB of var [don't know what that is] which includes those .asl files.

Hey, that was a great link, THANKS A LOT.

Meanwhile, I already removed the log files, and went to software updates, which were some 280MB.
      I installed them now.
Let us see if this problem has been resolved.

I have a friend who had lots of problems with a Mac and eventually used a hammer to destroy it and went to buy a Microsoft Windows one!

It is very frustrating that Apple has allowed its computers to reach the customers with horrendous problems of this nature, leading to BAD publicity, I think.

My son bought this one for me, and originally it was great for picture, but slowly but surely I found out it is not such a great computer, after all.
Or, maybe it is my inadequacy to use/understand them.

By the way, they finally released CCleaner for Mac... it's a free tool to clean up the crap (that's what the first c stands for) and you should run that occasionally.
Macs are nice but they're not the holy items that Apple fanboys claim they are
I'm typing this from a Mac. LOL!

Where is the "Desktop" folder located in Windows 11?
          by EpicFix
At the risk of sounding like a total noob I'm asking If anyone can help me locate the "Desktop" folder on Windows 11. I am trying to make a backup of all the user data from an SSD (mounted externally) that has Windows 11 installed. I was able to do this before up to Windows 10 by navigating to the User folder --> Username and there I would see the individual folders, Documents, Downloads etc. Attached is a screenshot of the folders I do see within the Users / Username folder. Any help locating the desktop folder will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to the community. ...

          Folder Is empty
          by zioricci
My Toshiba laptop stopped at the Toshiba logo when starting up, I flashed the bios and fixed it. Fortunately I had also backed up the data folder on an HP laptop with which in the meantime I reinstalled Windows 10 on the Toshiba hard drive using it as an external drive with which I am able to start the Toshiba after the problems solved.

The real problem now is when I copy and paste the data folder from the HP back to the Toshiba hard drive, again using it as an external drive on the HP. In fact, when I put the disk back in the Toshiba, it tells me that The folder is empty but in...

Copy DMI info easily with Hex editing software and Macro script
          by SMDFlea
Copying DMI information from an old bios to a new one is difficult for some members, often they have no experience with a hex editor,or some that have tried find it too hard. There is an option to make things easier for those members so that they don`t need to post their own bios backup for the DMI copying.

Experienced bios modding members can help by posting in other threads the DMI offsets, macro script generated by the software and a download link to the software at softpedia mentioned in this guide,or post your macros in the comments here with a link to the bios request thread ....
